I think, that isn’t entirely true.
In a video from one of the german LP-Channels I saw a TFV, the ingame pendant to the french highspeed train TGV, with two locomotive waggons, one on the front and one on the rear, facing the correct directions, the rear one faced towards the rear and the front one faced towards the front, like in RL.
