Earth 2150 and 2160 used random seed generators for their land maps. The player had the ability to dial a seed number in the map editor and create the landscape they wished. Then with a few brushes, one could edit land areas beyond that.
Could it be on a wish-list maybe to have such an editor?
In doing so, map makers could make “scenarios” with special industries, say like Milk, and cow farms…or as in your oil to goods. The map maker could place said cities and industries around the map.
I did this in Sid’s RailRoads and believe it or not people still want more maps for that thing all these many years. I prefer the graphics in this game and using Nif and Kfm files is a tad much all the time, these models are far easier.
Yes, devs, please give us the option for a map editor.
If you do that it will even fix the cargo economy. We can mod in custom industries like “En-gros warehouse”, place it near the city, and make that industry demand all kind of stuff, (oil, cars, grains, etc, etc….) before they can supply said city with goods. We could even make different such warehouses, some for big cities, with lots of demands, adn some for small cities with smaller demands.
