So similar style as olahaldor how to as I rather try finishing my train mod 🙂

I’ll try to answer what questions I can and explain more things in the future. But for short notice this will be fine for now. there is still plenty to fail at. Enjoy!

    Forgot to mentions:

    • Axles: only rotate in the y-axis and they are what connect the train/bogies to the track/road, that’s why you don’t need to animate them.
    • In the “events” under “[#]” forward = true/false: Will play the keyframe forwards or in reverse.

Thanks for this. I’ll check it out right off. Do you mind me asking where you went to look to learn about lua scripting as you mentioned earlier. I’d like to read up on it myself and try to learn it too. I found a couple things but did get into it yet because I don’t know if it applies here too. I basically know what ya did before even looking at the video by setting the fans up as wheels but don’t know how to implement it.  Thank you.

I forgot to mention about the Axles they only rotate in the y-axis and they are what connect the train/bogies to the track/road. that’s why you don’t need to animate them, you could get unwanted results if you do/did.

Dev’s have made it quite easy to adapt modding I must add, others make it near impossible out of the “box”.

As too scripting lua that’s a toughy I’ve played other games highly modified that used lua and all I would do is take a peek some stuff I’ld recognize from scripting .xml but the other stuff is just way beyond me. once I actually start to write a script I’ll know more, I learn as I go. Even in the video I still come up with stuff that’s why I don’t flow with my speech. Should have a script, guide lines to follow or video then narrate I guess but either way it’s quite time consuming.

Oh ok. I’m pretty much the same as you. I just get in em and change thing to see what they do but since this game takes so long to load, I’m not trying much because it takes to long to see the outcome. And yes, I like how the Devs made the animations easy because animating an msts model is a pain in the butt. I’m doing that next. I have a steamer to do and am curious to see how it all works. Only problem is most of what I have is msts payware and I can’t share them even tho I’m redoing the models to be more detailed and not just low poly junk that most msts models are and the game seems to handle them well.

Thank you for sharing, this way everybody can have animated vents, we all get train porn 😛

It’s still  a w.i.p. but I’ve finished the model to how I want it in game. I’m currently working on the textures and should be done this weekend (fingers crossed).
