After the USA DLC my Train-Fever keeps crashing (without warning or doing anything, even in paused mode during the whole time) after 10-15 minutes saying it has been closed due to low RAM. With lowering all the settings it doubles the playtime but keeps crashing.

    Specs: Windows 8.1, Core i7 930, HD 7850 2GB, 6GB DDR3 RAM

Maybe a screenshot of Poolmon might give a clue, but I’m no expert in this one:

Does your windows 8.1 run with 32bit or 64bit?

Does this only happen on a particular savegame?

Could you please give us a link to your steam user profile, so we can see if we can find any crash_dumps.

64-bit, and happens with any savegame no matter how I start it (size map/DLC on or off). Steam account is http://steamcommunity.com/id/itsfreakingmagic/

According to your crash-dumps you indeed have a crash regarding the memory.

Do you have to do anything special to achieve such a crash?

How much Memory does TrainFever.exe use in the normal Task Manager?

It was hard to find, but with some multiple monitors I was reading it in realtime. After loading a savegame it starts at about 950MB, steadily rising to 2,3GB at the crash. CPU load was constantly between 20-30%.  The strange thing is that my total amount of RAM wasn’t used. Also my desktop background dissappeared, making me to suspect the GPU-memory.  I was hovering above a medium sized town during the whole time without moving the POV. There is 1 train line and 1 bus line in this city. All other games/apps I ran this week had no problem, including the latest 3D Mark.

Here is BTW a screenshot of my normal task manager after the crash: http://i59.tinypic.com/fz6jbk.jpg

The problem persists even with the latest update, just so you know. 😉

Also, what I forgot to mention is that I can make it happen more quickly when zooming out and scroll a bit over the map.
