I believe this question has already been made somewhere in this forum but I cannot find it now (and as I remember, when I was reading it back then, there was no definite answer).

Is there any way to have a starting year 1950 without having to get the relevant achievement first? Is there any mod for this? The reason I am asking is because I have always played with mods and thus never got this achievement and the possibility of starting in 1950 is still locked for me.

Alternatively, can I unlock the achievement related with the starting year simply by starting the game, putting it on top speed and going for a movie or dinner and it will unlock itself after some time? Or is it more complicated (i.e. I have to actually build something/gather some amount of money, etc.)?
