    Hi,

Thought it would be good to have a place to post world seeds that you are playing on and find created a great world. As-well as giving new users good worlds to learn with or advanced users worlds to challenge yourself with.

Post seeds in this format: (If you have a better format I will change this)

    • Seed: XXXXXXXX
    • World Size: Small – Medium – Large
    • Terrain type: Flat – Medium – Hilly
    • Difficulty: Easy – Medium – Hard  (No idea if this actually has any effect on generation)
    • Rating: 0/10 Your rating based on how good the map is for the selected difficulty, So if you had easy but the map turns out to have towns too far apart of is quite hilly you would give a lower rating
    • Description: Blah
    • Media?

PS: to the devs, would be nice if there was  a way to see the world seed after creation as-well if possible.

Yes. If you use the same seed and the settings as shown for that seed, it will give you the same world.

    • Seed: WZVAM
    • World Size: Small
    • Terrain type: Medium
    • Difficulty: Easy
    • Rating: 7/10
    • Description: This seed has a river flowing diagonally through the map and has a few towns on lower flat ground while 2 towns are in hilly regions on 2 sides of the map. A good amount of industry in all area types as-well.

Has anyone found a seed where the terrain or layout looks even remotely different/interesting. All the maps I’ve played are virtually identical, I’d have a hard time telling any of them apart.

There’s not a lot of variation that’s for sure.  Also too many industries per map if you ask me.
Mind you the 20min cargo transit limit (terrible idea) needs removing before even considering less industries.

I’m only posting here now because I was looking for seeds with a difference, that others may have posted.

I don’t think 20min cargo limit is terrible idea, especially for ‘goods’ (but raw materials might be better if limit is longer than now)

I also don’t think there’s too many industries, especially near edge of maps where industries are far from city. And some of my big cities require nearly 300 goods in 1970 so 400 goods production limit is near.

Made this account just for posting 2 nice seeds,

the first is well known but still missing on this list

    • Seed: Dogecoin
    • World Size: Large
    • Terrain type: Medium
    • Difficulty: has no effect on map generation
    • Rating: 10/10
    • Description: 14 Cities on a river, some on mountains and nice industry

2nd is for the people who already played dogecoin:

    • Seed: Njg5ODYzODYz
    • World Size: Large
    • Terrain type: Medium
    • Difficulty: has no effect on map generation
    • Rating: 10/10
    • Description: Again like 15 Cities on a river, some other on flat terrain and few on mountains,
very nice indutry placement (a refinery in the middle with 3 close cities to connect -> huge ammounts of money

    thats it

edit 2nd map: 1857 and dept payed of with a nice 3.000.000 profit a year (only by building 14 horse wagon cargo lines)

in my opinion that is not a good thing, there needs to be some challenge to it or would become very boring very quickly

this is supposed to be just a list of good seeds. if you dont like em, dont play em. if you think everyone should play the game on hard maps sign a petition

edit 500000: maybe i f*cked something up with the 2nd seed. 64 bit says “1313903741” so it should be “Njg5ODYzODYz” but not sure …

Sign a petition what’s that mean? This is general discussion isn’t it, wasn’t having a dig, just an opinion no need to be touchy!

Is there any way of finding out the map seed once you have generated a map.. I have a map I really like but I’ve already played it for 40+ hours on it and would like to start it again, only I don’t have a save that is near the start

Userdata-Ordner von Steam (da, wo auch die Savegames zu finden sind) befindet sich ein Unterordner crash_dumps Dort findest du eine Textdatei namens stdout.txt.

    in english; userdata/steam/yoursteamid/304730/local/crashdump

    -> stdout.txt

there is a line that goes sth like “loaded game, seed: bla”

the seed is 64 bit code, so you will have to translate it.

    try this: http://www.hcidata.info/base64.htm

ok thanks for the info, but I failed to get the seed to code properly.. checking the stdout.txt gave me a seed number 1412995953 and converting it gave me MTQxMjk5NTk1Mw== but this didn’t give me the same map, so I am a little confused as to how I go about finding the original seed, which a shame because, although its a large – hard- flat map it does have two cities that are very close to each other and makes it great for building  stagecoach connections at the start

    Seed: LakesidePeaks

    or Seed: LakesideMountain1850

    Large/Hilly/Easy/1850

Both have a nice branching river, the first one especially. I didn’t stay on the first one because it was a first try and I didn’t fully get industry. Give them a quick try.

Looking forward to an update where there are different settings and seasons though.
