I’ll be posing the links to the YouTube videos I upload of Train Fever on this thread, for those who are interested. I might not be able to put up the links at the same time the video finishes uploading. I have to work with school, and I don’t have many opportunities to get on the internet.

My first Train Fever video, from yesterday, was an announcement to let people know that I’d be doing TF Beta videos.

Right now, I have a sort of introduction video uploading, that’ll be up in a few hours, keep an eye out for that, maybe subscribe, if you have the time. 😉

Sounds like a really harsh review more than a “let’s play” and I get a notion that most of the things you’re bashing and raging and yelling about should go to the devs instead of the public.

You spent 10 minutes doing this, and end it with “I’m not here to suggest to the devs, I’m here to play”. I’m sorry – what? It’s a BETA. You’re fortunate to be in on a beta, and SHOULD absolutely talk to the devs about the stuff you threw out there and let them decide what to do with your feedback.

You should maybe think about what you’re going to say before you say it a little more, I don’t know if you need a ‘script’ exactly but I think you have a hard time expressing thoughts without spending a lot of time mumbling and thinking out loud.

I agree with baronjutter. I’m 9 minutes in to watching it there’s a lot of umm…ahhh, it just needs a bit more planning on what you’re going to cover. I caught that you said you did this late at night around homework and scouts things, so I don’t want to be too harsh. It would be great to see something more planned next time.

It might be better to start with a new game and talk through building up a network rather than taking an existing game and spending so long talking about the issues with making money from freight. I skipped forward and noted you talked a little about building, but it could do with being up front.

I did like that you mentioned a couple of the key differences between this and TTD/CiM2 in that stations don’t have fixed catchment areas and that the steady rise of car ownership will change how things work out later in the game.

You really need to turn off the in-game music. It’s a constant, irritating distraction and makes it very difficult to hear what you’re saying.

Actually freight does make sense. You would have to match the train size with the production of the industry, and distance from one industry to the other. If your longer train has to wait 6 months for a full load then of course it will make less money then the shorter train that probably only has to wait a couple days or something. Same as in TTD freight where you match length of train with the what the industry can produce.

    @hert

That’s a good point. I’d expect immature industries to have lower production, so if you have a train with wait for full orders then it’s going to spend a heck of a lot of time sitting at a station burning maintenance costs.

One thing I haven’t seen yet is whether different industries have a return that’s based on speed of service like mail. If stations are strictly split between freight and passengers does that mean that there’s no mail like the TDD games?

It would also be interesting to know whether an industry has preferred destinations, e.g. does a coal mine only want to deliver to a local industry, or is it open to you opening up a long distance rail route to a consumer a long distance away?

Guys, I’m sorry. You have to understand that I’m new to commentary, I’m not good at improvising, I have reported those freight bugs, and my most viewed series is ETS2, where I rant a lot, so most of my fans are fine with my rants and my opinions and my thinking out loud. There are other people out there making TF videos, so watch them, Im not forcing anybody to watch If they don’t like my lack of profession.

I’ve only skimmed through your first video, but I like it – It’s nice to see how other people handle the obstacles like hills and crossing rails. 🙂

@Mansen Thanks! I’ll be doing a lot more building in the next episodes. I’ll also be less ranty and more focused on getting stuff done, for you other guys.

Hey, I have no issue whatsoever with ranting, and It’s great to see some English vids on TF finally. I’m just trying to offer some constructive criticism, not bashing at all.

Looking forward to your next vid already.

Since I can’t really do it here in text, I have attempted to explain what I meant last episode to try to work out this misunderstanding. If you guys, specifically, care about my explanation, hear me out when you get to watching the video. That one episode was only a one time thing, and so is this next episode.

Guys, lets give the kid a break. He is trying and learning. but when you do let’s play you are not supposed to spend time pointing out issues with the game especially when its in Beta, you can mention an issue, but you may want to move along to actual game play (eye candy, building, etc…).

I didn’t mean for an avalanche of negative critisism to go your way. I’m sorry my reply sounds as negative as it does, and I regret the fact that I didn’t let the steam out on something else.

I was so fed up after watching 4-5 other videos where there was mostly just babble, and at the end of the line, there was your video, thus it was easy to give it all to you.

    I’m sorry Pschlik!
