BansheedragonParticipant
If I didnt know this was a game I would almost think those pics was from some real railway tracks.
That looks pretty damned awesome.
I wish I had the patience to make something like this.
BansheedragonParticipantIf you think losing 2 is bad try losing half or more.
I had trains start with 46 passengers and arrive with 20.
Its a known issue though, but really frustrating if you are struggling to make a profit.
BansheedragonParticipantI imagine we’ll be able to make use of the Steam Workshop at some point down the line – Which would be a great way to spread the mods around.
Nexus is the site for distribution and discussion of game mods, I think it would be a god idea to use that:
Many prefer to avoid Steam as much as possible, and in any case it is unwise to put all the eggs in the same basket.
I hate the steam workshop.
Instead of just downloading and adding a mod, I need to be subscribed to the mod to be able to use it.
I dont know what it means, but I do not like the sound of having to subscribe, it sounds to me like I’m signing up for something I dont want just to be allowed to use the mod.
I have tried using mods from Steam workshop in the past on other games, in most cases I could not get them to work at all, only on some cases could I get them to work.
Nexusmods are my goto site for all kinds of mods, I found the best mods for some of my games there.
BansheedragonParticipantWill the goods be automatically distributed in the city or do I need to drive them around the city as well, like with passengers?
BansheedragonParticipantstupid question… you are using cargo platforms and not passenger platforms, right?
DOH!!!
Thanks for asking the stupid question, I never thought of that but now that you mention it I actually have used passenger platforms.
That explains everything.
I suppose that means I have to build a separate cargo station at the city where I want to deliver the end product as well then, or will any station do?
BansheedragonParticipantThis is a known issue.
It seems that some anti-virus programs picks up the game exe file as a virus.
Its been known to happen with other AV programs as well such as McAfee, AVG and Avast.
5. You cannot install Train Fever on Steam
This is most likely an anti-virus software problem. We experienced problems especially with McAfee and AVG anti-virus software. You need to disable the anti-virus software during installation. In some cases it’s also needed to disable the anti-virus software for starting the game.
What I would recommend you do, is to send in the file to your anti-virus provider(if possible with a description/explanation of the file) so they can look at it and white list the file.

BansheedragonParticipantI have had some issues with cargo transporting as well.
Today I set up a train station by a logging camp, connected that to a train station as a sawmill, which was connected to a city.
I set up 1 train to transport wood to the sawmill and 1 to transport goods to the city.
It sat there for 5 years, and not once was anything delivered to the station, and the logging camp was listed as not being connected to a line.
I then tried replacing the train station with a truck station, and all of a suddenly production went up to max, the logging camp was listed ans connected to a line now and wood was being delivered.
When I tried to replace the truck station with a train station production was still maxed, but nothing was being delivered, and the logging camp was again listed as not connected.
I have tried this several times in several games with various industries, yet no matter what I do, its as if train stations are not acceptable as pickup points, only truck stations.
I dont want to use trucks, I want to use trains, so why cant I use trains?
Why am I forced to use something I dont want to use?
BansheedragonParticipantI think allot of that issue is related to the goods/raw materials production problems in general.
Allot of people have reported having goods or raw materials stop being produced after a while when trying to transport them, some even reported that the raw materials production increased when they removed the line.
BansheedragonParticipantWhile I have not had this problem myself(fortunately), I have seen allot of people who has posted about this, both here and on Steam.
So far nobody has a solution to it and there has been no word from the devs, as least not as far as I have seen, about it either.
The only loading problem I have has been with loading a saved game, which causes the game to crash and windows to tell me the game stopped responding, which is almost as bad.
Its what I would call a game breaking or game stopping bug, and it frankly baffles me how such a serious bug has made it past testing and into release.
BansheedragonParticipantWhat’s the point of the game then?
I mean, it’s about trying to make your lines as efficient as possible. What fun would it be if agents would wait for hours (real time) to get from point A to B?
It’s not like it is impossible to let a line have only 20 minutes of waiting time, in fact, it’s really easy. Most of the time 1 vehicle is already faster than 20 minutes and just adding another vehicle could do the trick.
You wouldn’t wait 4 hours to get to another city by train either, would you? And 4 hours would probably be a couple of years in-game time…
Its not about wait time as it is about travel time.
When I go to wait for a train I choose when I go to wait for the train and how long I have to wait, if someone else wants to wait longer thats their choice.
But what is realistic about having a time limit for how long good or passengers should be in transit?
You dont see people or goods disappearing from the trains after a fixed amount of time in real life regardless of where the train is, so how can it be realistic to have that happen in a game that is supposed to simulate the real thing?
When I travel by train to somewhere, the time it takes to get there depends on the distance I have to travel, I dont get off the train in the middle of nowhere just because I have not reached my destination within some arbitrary time limit.
BansheedragonParticipantIf the station with 2 tracks is at the end of the line and has no tracks continuing after the station, then you can make it work, by setting up track signals on BOTH sides of the track for both the station tracks.
Otherwise it will not work, and you will have to wait for it to be fixed.
BansheedragonParticipantI support this.
I dont understand the reason for this limit.
All it does is restrict the freedom for players do build their transport network when they always have to keep it within this limit.
BansheedragonParticipantI had the keyboard go unresponsive several times when playing a game yesterday.
Only saved the game when I quit playing, not otherwise, yet still it went unresponsive countless times.
Very frustrating since using the mouse to scroll the screen is difficult at best as it stops scrolling when the ouse pointer gets over any of the UI elements, forcing me to use the keyboard.
When the keyboard then also becomes unresponsive, it goes beyond mere frustrating, and into the realm of rage.
BansheedragonParticipantI have been struggling as well.
I cant even get raw materials produced, which means that I cant even produce finished goods to deliver to cities.
And yes, I have connections to cities for delivery of finished goods, and well within the stupid 20 minute limit.
BansheedragonParticipantI have been having the game crash on me every single time I try to load a game.
Standard windows message saying the game stopped working.
Nothing I have done has worked, not even reinstalling the game.
