The RedKingParticipant
chears!
The RedKingParticipantHi there,
Try to use the upgrade tool, setting the “tramtracks” to YES. Hope it’ll work then.
The RedKingParticipantHi,
Also, see this post. Doesn’t say much but is related
http://www.train-fever.com/forums/topic/stations-have-2-names/
The RedKingParticipant- [20-min rule] Make citizens aware of traffic jams
If they actually take 2 hours by car to get from A to B, make them give up the car for good!
Isn’t this implemented now?
The RedKingParticipantI think you should do this in steam. Right-click on train-fever in your library and select properties. There somewhere you find an option game-language
The RedKingParticipantThe RedKingParticipantI don’t recall the ESC-key could be used that way. But, in case you don’t remember or know, the DELETE key, closes all the windows.
To change the angle, press and hold the CTRL-key. Then hold you left-mouse button and move your mouse. This will change the angle.
Hope this helps!
The RedKingParticipantI think I read this somewhere on the web-site, prior to the release:
– Data-layers
It would be very useful to add some data-layers, like:
– Max speed for train-tracks (already mentioned, could be added this way)
– Traffic density on road/rail
– Incline/decline for rail
– ???
The RedKingParticipantwell, I guess you’ve succeeded creating a topic every time as I see lots of the same now 😉
Great Idea btw, thanks!
The RedKingParticipantTry to remove the track on the opposite side (destination) of your bridge. I usually get a collision i that situation because of the slope there: it can’t be modified to fit the bridge as a track is already blocking it.
The RedKingParticipantI’ve got this gridlock problem too. It happens when there is more than 1 track to be used for the same route. e.g., when you’ve got 4 rail-tracks connecting 2 (4-track)stations, all one way. Setting up the route, it will choose track 1 for A to B, and track 2 for B to A.
To connect a depot, I’ve added switches somewhere in the middle (using correct signals).
Now, when the route suddenly changes, now using track 3 and 4 due to another modification else were, I sometimes end-up with some of the trains on track 1 and 2, and some of them on track 3 and 4. As they try to switch back to the same tracks, they jam each-other. Especially when the causing change also changes the usage of track 3 and 4, as I did not expect any trains to be on these.
Waypoints, waypoints, waypoints….Can’t wait. Hope tomorrow’ll be the day
The RedKingParticipantThat’s an interesting idea…
Could add a whole new dimension to the game. I like it!
The RedKingParticipantI’ve un-grouped all stops in my tram-lines: problem solved!
But again, this is a work-around. Hope it get’s fixed somehow.
The RedKingParticipantOne thing I found out is that most problems are caused by cars trying to turn. They can only do so at entrances of depots or train-stations (DEVs confirmed this somewhere in the forum).
To help traffic, I usually build some extra road-depots scattered around the city. This seems to help a lot, although it’s merely a work-around rather then a solution.
I often get a jam at the train stations as a lot of buses and tram’s pass there. If a car tries to turn at the train-station’s entrance and the lane it wants to return into is blocked by a stopping bus/tram, it blocks the traffic on the other lane as well (this in turn could prevent to stopping bus to leave, so the car cannot complete its turn….).
To solve this, I noticed it helps if you don’t connect the train-station directly to a road, but place a small section of road between them. This way, the car can make a full turn in the “entrance and wait for the lane to free-up, without blocking the other lane.
The RedKingParticipantWell, all I can say is that I always have a hard time replacing any road city-to-city connection by a rail connection too. No matter where I build the train-station (even in the center of each city).
Eventually the train will get more and more passengers but the road-connection will still be heavily used. So I guess the train-passengers are ‘new’, not ones which would use the road connection if the train wasn’t there, or road passengers which now use the train.
