dakdak99Participant
I’ve just put it on a short freight line where the time limit won’t matter, just because I like the look of them and anyway, I have more than 1 Billion in money anyway. 🙂
Uzurpator, I’ll take a look at your mod, thanks!
dakdak99ParticipantNot sure if this was mentioned with regard to time speed options, but here is my idea:
– Keep the current time speeds for the time period 1850-1900.
– Cut the time speeds in half for the time period 1900-1950.
– Cut the time speeds in half again for the time period after 1950.
One of the current problems with time is that too many new trains appear after 1950 (especially if you install modded trains) and you end up not being able to use them because they’re phased out before you have the time to set up a new line or replace them. The above option would give you much more time to use different trains.
The one downside I see is that “train life” is so long in late-game (40-50 years) that slowing down the game speed makes it unnecessary to replace trains for an extremely long time. Some kind of solution will need to be found for this!
dakdak99ParticipantDoes anyone ever use the Crocodile? It goes just 65 km/h  and only 7 years later the Ae 4/7 appears, which is superior in every single way. With the 20-minute limit, using the Crocodile just doesn’t make any sense to me.
dakdak99ParticipantI posted this over the weekend to help people who have issues with slopes, a “how to” for building train tracks on hills:

dakdak99ParticipantBump, so that new players can use this as well.
dakdak99ParticipantHere’s where you can download the UI mod:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/77888280/TF%20Mod/LargeUI_mod.zip
Here’s some details from the developer; note that this is a MOD and can therefore alter the game in unexpected ways.
INSTALLING THE MOD
Make a backup of your Train Fever res/texture/ui folder (and subfolders) if you want.
Drop the “res” folder in this Zip archive to your Train Fever root folder, usuallynamed “Train Fever”. Overwrite all files when prompted.
TO UNINSTALL THE MODSelect “Verify integrity of game cache…” from the Steam client to get a fresh TFcopy or just move back your backup ui folder.
dakdak99ParticipantAre your signals all set up correctly? One-way signals can sometimes block a train from going where it needs to go, even if there is only one train on it.
dakdak99ParticipantThere’s actually a mod somewhere for a bigger UI. Not sure where you can find it, I’ll add the link to this post when I do.
dakdak99ParticipantMy guide has some more info on this:

dakdak99ParticipantMeh. In real life, you first have to demolish the existing structures as well before building a new one, and usually you also have to relay some rail track and the like. I think it’s fine the way it works now.
dakdak99ParticipantThanks sigh 🙂
dakdak99ParticipantThere is a beginner’s guide, look here:

dakdak99ParticipantYou actually do need to sell the vehicles to replace them.
