Can you add a option to change line colours from a palette kind of system. Add it under features of line management!

@bloodgiver: I don’t receive any CTD’s on my laptop, this is a vanilla TF, but I did experience CTD’s on my desktop with the mods installed. I suspect the update have changed some files and now some mods not compatible with it. Try starting a fresh map and see if you experience CTD’s and if you do, check your mods.

That is a evil way to tell someone his graphics card is a joke. 😮

You experiencing overall lag on high texture settings? This is caused by the graphics card memory. Even 2GB is not enough, I think we need more than 3GB for the game to work smooth.

What I do can say is about the performance update is, less stutter than usual. This is a great improvement otherwise I was going crazy.

I don’t know what you mean by the street bug, because I never encounter such problem when demolishing a street segment. Was this bug created when the game build the street by itself? I only got problems demolishing the existing connection which is already connected with another town. The hauptverbindung is a real pain and I hate it! 😐

Can you please provide the link for the mod removing the feature. 🙂

@louvenia: I don’t understand what you mean by updating drivers and etc.

Multicore support is to develop the game’s code in such way to make use of all the processing capacity available. I think updating drivers will not help unless you receive errors like missing files or functions.

This is where the game becomes interesting. Everyone wants to implement the same tactics with trains in the 1950 as they did in the 1850’s.

When I approach the 1950’s, I rebuild my entire network to accommodate faster trains and had to change numerous destinations and etc. and improve the network. You must approach the 1950’s differently as in the 1850’s with trains.

@Xcenty, a long time ago when the game was in development and the dev discussed the possible rules imposed, 20 minute travel time was one of them. I forget the exact website where they discussed such things, but I think it was a checklist German spoken video somewhere.

Even if its not the case, I still use the 2o minute travel time as my limit to ensure my network is fully optimised and used by the passengers. I also use the factor to implement High Speed services and ensure passengers won’t travel to the next town, but the town after (2nd town from origin).

For the performance, I’m happy they acknowledge they can improve it. I also want those expense numbers to vanish which pops up every month over the trains.

I like to add some extra notes here.

I’ve checked the windows resources monitor and seen TF make use of 10 threads when playing the game. I also seen every instance, maybe every month, the CPU processing increase from 32% to 50% on my i5-3330K.

Thus the 50% is when the game stutter.  My assumption is there is 1 thread consuming the 25% of my processor capacity and the other 9 threads is on the other core which increase the capacity up to 32%. I also assume hyper-threading is not so well implemented than multi-threading.

I vote for British DLC. This may be the biggest collection of steam trains.

I bought the game to play it in Linux and what was my surprise that I find that it only works in 64-bit Linux, although it isn’t advertised anywhere…

Yes, the 64-bit version was indicated on the Steam page as a requirement. Anyway, why don’t you just download the 64-bit version? Unless you don’t have enough RAM. The game need at least 4GB of RAM to get the full potential out of it.

If you played the 32-bit windows version, you would be limited to small and medium maps anyway.

Good representation. This is certainly a feature needed. I place my vote for this!

I’ll say the game is worth purchasing if you really into trains and want a little economy accompany it. I don’t know why people say the game is full of bugs, because I don’t experience any bugs. Everything is working as it should. I’d rather say the game lack features, needed features for the simplest tasks, but workarounds are available. Building roads over rails is an example of a feature missing. The finance lack some charts and more detailed information, missing feature. Rail crossing, missing feature. Robots at intersections, missing feature and so on.

I see this game as my own little model railroad and like messing with it, because this is a sandbox. You try what you can and build some awesome and complex rail layouts and at the same time make it economically feasible.

If you want additional features like extra loco’s, wagons, stations, depots, gameplay features, cargo features, etc. You must go to train-fever.net

@uzurpator: Why must I delete the manifest file? Does it affect the game?

I’ve seen an oddity when you have more than 1 bus line in the town. If you have 1 bus line going in a circle, the bus line will make money, but then you hurt the town coverage, thus transporting less people. If you have 2 or 3 bus lines, then likely they will make a loss, because now the sims will drive the bus nearest to his/her home. This cause the busses not to be always full and then they will loose money due to expenses in running cost.

I also want to point out to the traffic in the game. I have Traffic DeCongestation on my PC, but not on my laptop. I then played the vanilla game on the laptop and seen many sims driving with cars, but I then found out the rail network has to be improvised to accommodate fast trains, like over 150 km/h if possible. The sims driving with the train then not travel to the next town, but the town after which means they travel past their neighbouring town. Then I make lots of money with the train and not with the busses.

About the trams, the only benefit the trams has, is their running cost being lower than busses. I usually place them after a while the town growing and can find a perfect circle line.

Did you activate the carg0 overlay? Maybe the charcoal delivered at the forestry then travel with the road further down to the choker? This is Gwinda’s Cargo mod, right?
