Thank you members of Urban Games for making the game better each week. It’s good to know that ya’ll are hard at work on improving game play and others.
Its certainly refreshing to see regular updates… Kudos to Urban for that and making a great game.
Regarding longer trains / distances, I would think the 20min travel time for cargo would need to be adjusted (and should be) too. 20 mins is ok I guess for passengers (30 would be better) but for cargo.. it shouldn’t have a limit, or if it has, a much longer one.
FX2KParticipantI would recommend submitting the exe (or file it tagged as suspicious) to AVG for analysis, that way, they can update AVG so it does not happen in the future. But yes, adding an exception is far better than disabling the entire AV for a single game.

Do you have an integrated intel graphics processor along side your nvidia one?

Texture wise, there are numerous repaints of existing / modded trains on that website, if it’s not something you can give time to / or are that good at, I am sure others are willing..
FX2KParticipantI don’t see the need for complication. Vehicle replacement is about vehicle not lines. A button on the vehicle called Replace now is enough. Magically reset the vehicle age, running cost and value.

Exacly, can be one refurbish and one replace button..Or even better, a refurbish buton, and if you old it down you can get to a drop down meney and just choice a other vihicle

FX2KParticipantA few options would be nice for the generated terrain just to add some variation.
- Number of towns / cities (with upper limits I guess)
- Number of industries
- Percentage of water
- Percentage of forest coverage, just because more trees look good.
- Coastal Map’s
Real flat terrain isn’t something I would desire personally, but I am guessing that has been requested due to ‘collisions’ and other line placing issues, which if tweaked / fixed would be better imho.
FX2KParticipantIn the majority of cases, the reason these lines do not work is that the travel time + waiting time is greater than the time it would take for the cargo (or passenger) to travel to their destination themselves, also there is a 20 minute travel limit on this.
You need to make sure the frequency shown in the line panel is not too high.
For instance, using your example and made up figures…
1 train running from coal > ore > foundry > city
Coal > Ore = travel time of 5 mins + some for loading
Ore > Foundry = travel time of 5 mins + some for loading
Foundry > City = travel time of 5 mins + some for loading
City > Coal travel time of 10 mins + some for loadingThe train would stop at the Coal station every 20 minutes (+ loading times) , making the waiting time for the goods exceed the travel time allowed, so they wouldn’t use it.
Now you could break this up, depending on how the route is laid out and the actual line times for each point to point
So for instance, one train going Coal > Ore > FoundryThen another Foundry > City > Foundry > City
I know you mentioned foundry > city via trucks, but regardless of the logistics, make sure the total travel time is under 20 mins period.
Think I have worked that all out correctly, obviously figures etc would vary but as far as I have discovered, that is the general principle. Excusing any mistakes I may have made 😛

FX2KParticipantHas anyone found a seed where the terrain or layout looks even remotely different/interesting. All the maps I’ve played are virtually identical, I’d have a hard time telling any of them apart.
There’s not a lot of variation that’s for sure. Also too many industries per map if you ask me.
Mind you the 20min cargo transit limit (terrible idea) needs removing before even considering less industries.I’m only posting here now because I was looking for seeds with a difference, that others may have posted.
