When I want to improve a town I use the pause button.

Me too, but there is always that one vehicle in the way, so I un-pause to get it out of the way.

By the time its out of the way, the roads are rebuilt and buildings under construction.  More Cost and more messing around.  It wouldn’t be an issue if the vehicle teleported to somewhere safe.. after all, it does this anyway when you do bulldoze / upgrade a clear section, but wont do it when its the section you are working on.

Have you contacted McAfee or sent the supposedly suspect file to them for analysis?

The more people that do this, the quicker they are likely to resolve it I would think.
After all, its McAfee that need to release an update, not the TF devs

it works only with a small train like the railbus, that have no substitute in modern times

    I didn’t think of that…

Never mind… The town I live in, along with the neighboring town (along with many others) has two stations, a larger central one, near the shopping/leisure areas and one on the outskirts, near dense residential area, although aimed at regional travel rather than local…I suppose this could cut down the ‘civs’ travel time to their destination if the unload/load time’s didn’t outweigh what would be their normal route, e.g bus/tram.

Replacing vehicles due to old age is a major chore in this game.. its not fun and games should be fun.

So a + 1 from me.  Something, anything… other than a suggestion to sell all vehicles on a line, which results in selling vehicles too early, losing cargo / passengers and having to re-space the new vehicles out one by one.

    @FX2K

The point was, it made no difference.  No better, no worse.

Just like the graphics settings make no difference…. yet looking at an empty field gives me extremely high FPS, looking at a city very low FPS..   Open the lines menu, -20fps.  Open a vehicle popup, -10fps.  Late game its just no fun anymore with an average of between 10-20fps around the areas of interest.

    According to the news….

As a next step, we focus on performance improvements. We are aware that some players experience performance problems especially with medium and large maps. We are confident that we can deliver a major performance update soon.

Fingers crossed for the next patch.

I’ve found out that we can send the file to virus_research@mcafee.com so that they can analyze and exclude it.Have anyone one done it already?

I dont use McAfee and don’t have this issue, but have recently had similar with my own software and Avast.

I only posted to say, everybody with the issue should do as mikas24 pointed out.  McAfee are the ones who need to resolve the issue with their system which is clearly a false accusation, that this game has a virus, which it does not.

If everybody sent the file to whom they pay to protect their system (or in the case of AVG etc, use for free) then surely the AV company providing the false information will have to get their act into gear and issue a patch… and in my opinion an apology.

It took Avast 2 days to resolve the issue where it reported my software as a virus after a live update.. Only 2 days and they streamed an update out to all their users and apologised for the inconvenience they caused me and I am not a customer of theirs, never have been.  If McAfee cannot resolve this for their paying customers, then you.. the paying customer.. should be forwarding your complaints directly to them.

Edit: If you want some kind of confirmation that the file is not a virus, upload it to VirusTotal.com
Its pretty clear that with a detection ratio of 4/55 (2 of those being McAfee and 2 that I have never heard of) it is a false positive.

Performance is one of our top issues to be solved. We’re working on performance optimization in the near future. There’s always potential to get some more fps and we’re trying to get it better with every update

Thanks for chiming in… Good to hear it is a top issue, the game is fantastic in my opinion, aside from late game performance that is.

I started yet another new game, FPS was on average around 45 fps until 1950’s where it now exhibits the very low fps drops and gets worse as time goes on…

Using a similar angle to the last screenshot above…..in my current save, so 1950’s not 2020 I get results similar to:

If the camera is positioned in a relatively empty field I can get as high as 125 FPS
If I open a single vehicle window, it drops to 85 FPS
If I close that and open the lines menu, it drops to 43FPS… that’s some major FPS drop for one window.

If the camera is positioned over a town (same sort of angle) I get 32 FPS
If I open a single vehicle window, it drops to 26 FPS
If I close that and open the lines menu, it drops to 15FPS

A moving camera, i.e following a train can be high’s of 80 in the open and lows of 20 when nearing / in a town, with no other windows open.

I doubt it being caused by agents / number of player vehicles / lines, since I have deleted all my vehicles and no noticable change to performance.  I expected a different result there.

Also, if it where the agent simulation, then the low FPS should persist no matter where I am looking.  As you can see, looking at an almost empty field yields very high FPS.  A developed town, very low FPS by comparison.  All in the same game / save.

This may be irrelevant, although odd… but in my folder:

    C:\Steam\userdata\32529839\304730\local\crash_dump\

I have a stderr.txt file which contains the following, multiple times:

This is not my folder or the drive I use, obviously showing a dev folder or something?!?
    I have no D:\urban\ folder.
