Even if the base game is left as-is but the ability for it to be modified would be good, imho.
FX2KParticipantThe generation of want everything now…. I don’t know 😛
I’m happy to wait until Friday 😀FX2KParticipantNope, stations have one entrance on one side only. But it would be nice if it worked how you tried it.
Perhaps a suggestion for the future. Personally I would like to see stations with access on both sides and ones with access at the end, terminal style.FX2KParticipantI think it just provides less clutter on the screen, grouped or not they perform the same… well, not quite… If you group a station with a bus stop and make changes to a train line, any bus routes which go through this group will be recalculated which can sometimes cause it to change paths, and vice versa.
FX2KParticipantAs far as I recall, it goes something like this.. perhaps swapping leisure and shopping around.
So no, they don’t ever go Shopping > Work or Leisure > Shopping.Home > Work > Home > Shopping > Home > Leisure > Home
They can also teleport a vehicle to them if the return journey is longer than the initial one.
FX2KParticipantYou can make it compatible with TF Mod Manager quite easily and perhaps post it on
http://www.train-fever.net/filebase/index.php/Filebase/Create the folder structure like:
BuildingDensityMod\res\scripts\ buildingutil.lua
Also include a file:
BuildingDensityMod\tfmm.iniWith contents like:
name = Building Density Mod
author = stevendshen
version = 0.1Zip the folder and now its MM compatible 😉 which takes care of installing it / backing up and disabling it if required.

FX2KParticipantThere was a mod for 6 lane avenues, although I have never tried it.. I think it requires a new game and not using a save. It might not be that stable, but here is the link anyway

Even so, would be nice for some more official road types as mentioned above.

FX2KParticipantMy main point was towards the question of “what good are waypoints?” and why did trains need waypoints…the road vehicles was a bit of an after thought where I failed to take some things into consideration.
FX2KParticipantFair enough..
FX2KParticipantWaypoint’s where badly needed for trains and I for one am very grateful for their addition.
There where multiple scenarios where the automatic re-calculation of routes could mess up your entire network, causing trains to try to swap lines here there and everywhere… obviously not such an issue if you have 1 track going from A to B and 1 track going B to C, or two without joining them…Here is but one example where lack of control caused issues and workarounds didn’t always work / re-calculated some times causing a PITA situation: Within that page is a link to another, where I had an issue… I have faced it numerous times with more complex track layouts.

I don’t get why you need them for buses though… bus stops are essentially waypoints and you can control the route quite well with ungrouped stop’s. Something you couldn’t do (since you couldn’t pick a platform) with stations.

FX2KParticipant@jm764 Thanks….btw, don’t take it that I don’t believe you.. it may sound that way in my last sentence (I just re-read it) but I can assure you it was not intended that way.
I also love this game (169hrs played) I am just frustrated with late game performance.. to a point where I have not played it for the last 10(ish) days or so other than a quick test…. anywhooo, at least I have something to compare against.. will try it out later 🙂
FX2KParticipantI have an i7 3970x @ 4ghz, Titan Z gpu, watercooler, 16gb ram, Windows 8.1 Pro and lets say around 1990 upwards, the performance drops frequently below 30 fps, especially if interacting with the game and not just sitting looking off the map.
What year are you up to where you have 60fps, early game that is easily achievable.. but late game not so much. Admittedly, I have not tried the latest patch though.
Edit: Also, if you really are getting such good performance, any chance of uploading your save so I can see how my system handles it to compare…
FX2KParticipantGood to hear, I might give it a go just to test… was it buildingutil.lua you edited?
Edit: Of course, if you want to share it, then will save some time 😀The only problem with halving it is that also halves your potential ticket sales / income.
I had a brief look in the files and couldn’t find anything to increase this.. I didn’t spend too much time looking though if I am honest.. for it to be a viable option, this would imo need adjusting too.If it makes a drastic difference then I really do hope the dev’s take note.
I for one would be happy to play with 1/2 the civs paying twice the price for their train / bus journeys if it meant a smooth enjoyable experience. Most other similar genre games don’t even have wandering passengers…excluding CIM.- This reply was modified 9 years, 5 months ago by FX2K.
FX2KParticipantThere will be more performance improvements in the future…when.. nobody really knows but its something I am waiting for too.
FX2KParticipantAhhh, Ok I see what you mean now. I can’t say I have noticed this myself, probably not paying to much attention to it to be honest. Is it the same if you zoom in more.. I know the ‘snapping’ of things changes depending on zoom level… in fact I have seen collisions when zoomed out which are not present when zoomed in too.
