McAfee can cause a lot of problems with quite a few games. I had this on an older computer which came with it already installed. I uninstalled it and bought Norton. Since then I have had no problems and I have Norton installed on this Windows 8 HP Laptop, and Trainfever runs ok with no problems, except issues already mentioned on these forums, which other people seem to be having, about the game.

Reading all the posts on here regarding the train side of TrainFever. I don’t think much thought went into the game regarding these problems. I know it is based on right hand running (as in Germany) but no consideration was given to left hand running as is in France and the UK. This is the same I suppose of road transport. Maybe a facility to choose either option of left or right running should have been available in the game from the start.

I haven’t had much success with trains so far, but I am just hoping that a patch to improve things will soon be available. It will make building railways much easier.

I am still running in the early period and have only reached 1900 so far, the reason being, I don’t spend much more than an hour or so in each session. because I don’t have much free time available.

Can’t comment just yet, only got back from holiday today and have just downloaded the game. Up to press, I am still plodding around with horses in 1850, but the game runs smooth so far. lol

Very nice for a promotional look at what Trainfever has to offer. Agree though, a few more industries would have been nice, such as Clay Quarries and Brickworks, which go together or Limestone Quarries and Cement Works, both these are needed for building expansion, which is part of the structure of the game.

I wasn’t asking for your religious views Azrael, I just wanted to know if the towns had churches, because that is usually the norm, for every town in Europe and is part of the scene. I respect you being non religious, that is your choice.

Whether we get planes or/and ships is dependent on the dev’s, but personally I will be quite happy with the transport that already exists, after all, the main emphasis is on trains, that’s why it is called Trainfever. If the other two transport vehicles become available, then that will satisfy those that would like to see it.

I would prefer there to be the option of a sandbox mode, where you could make your own maps and set up your own scenarios. How this would work with the dynamics for expanding towns and cities, I have no idea.

On the note of towns and cities, has anyone noticed any churches or cathedrals in any of the towns on the map, or do the people of these towns have no religion? I can’t recall having seen a church amongst any of the buildings, or have I not noticed them?

Good point about harbours berry, these could be set up like the sawmills, refineries, so that imported goods could be sent direct to the towns industrial areas.

No need for ships, just a harbour where transport links could be connected to like the other industries.

Adding, Air, Water or even Underground transport, doesn’t bother me really, I am happy with just rail and road.

Phew! mariodk. Slow down a bit, maybe some of these suggestions are in the pipeline for future updates. Let’s just see how everyone views the game after release, about what can be done with it. Personally, I like it’s simplicity as it is for now, before jumping in with massive stations and interchange facilities. Sometimes games like these can get too complicated to enjoy. That’s why I’m glad, that on the financial side of the game, there is no Stock Market and buying and selling shares incorporated into it. If it does go down that route in future releases, then I don’t think I will be upgrading. I like the way it operates at the moment, without it being too over the top.

I think I will be playing a lot in the early period, 1850 to 1950 for most of the time, because I enjoy this particular time scale, rather than the hectic bustle of the twenty first century. But that reflects my age, as I grew up during the 1950’s. Us old ones prefer the nostalgia and slower pace of life I suppose.

Talking of Aeroplanes, a nice Hot Air Balloon would be a nice touch to start with in 1850 and later move on to an Airship by say 1900. Then later, have passenger aircraft through the early 1900’s up to the first jet aircraft of the 1950’s and onto present day and beyond, with supersonic aircraft. Or am I just getting carried away?

Same for water transport, how about a rowing boat, paddle steamer! Well I really am getting carried away Lol.

Yes we definitely need an English speaking forum for TF and the ability to upload and download community add on’s or freeware mods, independently from this website and Steam

A forum that can be categorised into separate topics, not like this forum with just one General topic page.

That’s nice to know Jm, don’t think I was running you down about what you have shown so far in your video’s cos I’m not. They have all been part of the learning curve, but it just so happened that I stumbled on those done by Dad’s Gaming Addiction, and he showed how the interface worked and what all the different controls did for running the game.

If you do a similar tutorial just to get people started, then I am sure it will be appreciated by a lot of people.

I am seventy years old and not always able to keep up, with the young whiz kids of today, when it comes to computer games. It was all still Ludo, Snakes & Ladders, Monopoly when I was a lad and the first computer game was bouncing a ping pong ball from one side of the TV screen to the other. We have come along way since then and I have seen many changes that have taken place over the years.  So just spare a thought for all the other silly old farts, that do enjoy their retirement playing computer games, that their IS still life after 70.

Yes I do enjoy all your videos and have learned a lot from them. Keep up the good work guys!

I take my hat off to all the people who spend hours and hours, making models for computer games. I just haven’t got the time or patience to take it up. It is you guys that keep games interesting, with lot’s of exciting additions to add to them, which attract more people to buy these sort of games. From what I have seen so far with Trainfever, it has been kept reasonably simple, without bringing in stocks and shares, like most other games of this type, which I have to say, I am happy about.

There will be enough interest, just expanding the towns with transport links and seeing them grow over time, than worrying about competition from other companies and having to deal with the financial aspects of the stock market.

New models will certainly enhance the game and it will be nice to be able to download vehicle packs for your home country (mine being the UK) rather than have to play with just the models that come with the game. But I am impressed with what models do come with it, like the old steam trams and buses, through to the record breaking LNER Mallard of the 1930’s era.

So to you modder’s out there, “keep up the good work” it will be interesting to see what becomes available for this game.

This website seem to be ahead in modding then we are on this forum, don’t take me wrong. It’s in german though http://www.train-fever.net. Maybe we can collaborate with these guys, it can make things alot easier then finding out everything by ourselves.

I agree, but we need to have an option to choose between German & the English language, otherwise it won’t be any help. A lot of German websites do give you the option to choose English.
