GoemoeParticipant
It seems what’s missing most is time to get the beta polished before release day 😉 The game will become gold any day now to reach the shelves in time.
GoemoeParticipantIn the beta video, Tom told about one already existing mod, that does exactly what you would like to see, Brunna.
GoemoeParticipantThey have a calculated frequency at which each of the busses drives from station to station. As long as that frequency is not reached, the busses wait for some extra time at each stop. As you can see in the video, they left the depot together and gathered more and more space between each other.
GoemoeParticipantGreat video, thanks. I missed the characters in the game setup. Have they been skipped or did they just not appear in the video?
GoemoeParticipantThanks, sounds good. And no, I have more than one PC but only one is always connected, for good reason. The internet is a constant distraction for me.
GoemoeParticipantAre you sure you have a computer with no internet connection?
What kind of question is that? I could move it one time to a place to connect it, yes. But I wouldn’t do it each time to play a simple game like Trainfever. If it is a one time registration, ok. If it is something stupid like the everytime login for offline games like Skyrim, I will have to rethink my plans of ordering two copies.
And I won’t have to download the game, since I ordered boxed versions. Patches can be copied to sticks, you don’t need internet on every computer 😉
GoemoeParticipantWill you need it once, or each time you want to play? One of the PCs I intend to play it on has no internet connection which should be no problem, since Trainfever is an offline game.
GoemoeParticipantIs it possible, possibly as a future addition to the game, to have AI companies create and operate these non-train services?
Sounds interesting. Perhaps when we will get some further AI, (competitors and multiplayer stuff have been named for a possible addon, if successful enough) intown services could be competitive as well. One of the AI competitors could actually be eager to provide more intown services than railroads. We too could think about adding busses to cities of our opponents. Is it more profitable for us or for them?
And players like Morat could ignore it, because at some point the AI will join in and provide intown services for him anyway 🙂GoemoeParticipantThe only good footage of the game is the pre-Alpha video from tom.io (german) and the small gameplay video from Basil. Both are way too old. No matter if they point out bad points of it. If there is nothing new to point out the good things, I doubt it will become very popular. I talk to people in old RT3 forums and they don’t even know about train-fever. 😉
GoemoeParticipantI bump this, as my wife just asked the same. I preordered one copy for her too and I doubt she will be eager to play an old smelly male from 1850. So please offer female characters as well! 🙂
GoemoeParticipantI stumbled about the game by accident today and I would have loved to know about it earlier. I would have backed it during the crowdfunding process as well, but I simply did not know about the game. But as they said, they are working on the markting currently.
GoemoeParticipantMap editor will come if the release is successful.
Where did they talk about an editor? I have searched the forum and looked up each video. Where did you find this information?
GoemoeParticipantGood point. As other topics show, some actual coverage of the game could do the trick in getting more interest in the game. Videos, beta tester reviews or interviews in august could be helpful 🙂
GoemoeParticipantThat is not my point. When you use a player set number, will this always generate the same map? If this is the case, you could play the same map differently, i.e. by choosing a different character using a different skill set. Why is this important? Since we don’t get a multiplayer with the release, two or more people could play the exact same map and compare their development.
GoemoeParticipantWill there be a good shiny trailer coming with or before of the release? A gameplay/ let’s play/actual interview video like the one with toi.io perhaps? This would be great! I am trying to convince some people to have a look at Trainfever. A new video with actual gameplay could do the trick 😉
