Nice, that’s exactly what I was looking for! Thanks 🙂
ILikeTrainsParticipantI’d like to do the same thing! I tried everything but looks like rails simply can’t cross :\
ILikeTrainsParticipantI guess that if the time that coal takes to reach the destination, even with the “changing train” on its way, is less than that required to move it “on foot” to the nearest target industry, then it should work. However, if it takes too much waiting time in the middle station and the final target is an industry far away, it might prefer to still move it on foot
ILikeTrainsParticipantVery funny and well done 😀 But as far I saw on other videos, there’s no need to bring workers to the industries
ILikeTrainsParticipantBeta testers are given a free copy, devs said in July! It happened to me for CiM2, it is basically because once a person is given a beta key on Steam, steam considers it to be an early-access and so it automatically upgrades to the full game once it is released!
PS: Finally an Italian gameplay 😀

ILikeTrainsParticipantThat’s something I was wondering too! In Cities in Motion they only took one of the two lines and that wasn’t good at all, since a lot of time in cities you have two lines with different endings covering a common, very used area. Well, in CiM you had like 100 angry people waiting for line 1 and line 2 buses just passing by, completely empty.
A more useful example in train fever would be:
City A—-\
———— City C ——-> City D
City B—-/
Passengers willing to go to City D from City C should take the first passing train, no matter if it comes from City A or City B. Does it work like that?

ILikeTrainsParticipantI don’t think the developers will decide to introduce this only because a person says he won’t buy the game 🙂
I support the proposal, it is pretty interesting and realistic, but it is not on the top of the missing feature I’d say. For example, I think multiplayer and competitive AI is much more important in the list of features people would like to see. And in any case, this is already a wonderful game and I don’t think any fan of train game is ready to wait other like 5 years for anything fairly close to this. 😉
ILikeTrainsParticipantThough I have no idea on how to build models, they look real good and surely a nice feature to be added!
May I suggest an idea that anybody good at this can develop? The italian Frecciarossa high speed train
ILikeTrainsParticipantHuge thumb up for this proposal! It’s not unusual to give beta access with pre-order, and it’s indeed very appreciated by players 😀
ILikeTrainsParticipantI went through almost all of it and it’s very well done! He understood all the mechanics and explained it well, so it’s highly recommended since it gives a great view of the game 🙂
ILikeTrainsParticipantThe game is the same. The only difference is that the electronic version (e.g.: Steam) is only on your PC and you have to download it when it comes out. The retail version is in the classical “box” with the CD. It says german because the box and everything inside is in German, but the game can be played in English as well 😉
So, in order to choose: if you really want the box or have a veery slow internet connection, go for the retail version. Otherwise the electronic one should do just fine

ILikeTrainsParticipantCan help with italian if needed 😀
ILikeTrainsParticipantAs far as I remember from previous replies, ports and airports are not planned in the initial release but maybe in future DLCs/expansions/updates. As for traffic jams, people go from a point to another. If no rail is present, they use cars, which means there may be some realistic increase of traffic on certain main roads. However I guess only the final release will clarify this last point 😉
ILikeTrainsParticipantThank you very much for the reply 🙂
@Axel: I guess they’ll tell us later how to become a beta tester! But generally they choose a group of people either randomly or by selecting them according to some characteristics (e.g.: how many ours can you play in a week, what is your experience with Transport Tycoon and similar games etc.)
ILikeTrainsParticipantIt sounds like a really interesting idea! I hope the developers will consider it 🙂
as an example, Virtual City (a little transportation game for iPhone and iPad) uses this kind of thing. There is an arrow on the street that reaches an end of the map and that arrow works exactly as a bus stop/cargo depot, with passengers going in and out or by accepting goods in order to produce other goods.
