@Tom No Problem! 😀
@ashu I did more research on the 9400 GT turns out it’s weaker than I originally thought. Here’s a link to the game’s performance (synthetic test) if you were to try and run the game at 1920×1080 resolution: http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=20506&game=Train+Fever&p_make=Intel&p_deriv=Core+2+Duo+E8400+3.0GHz&gc_make=Nvidia&gc_deriv=GeForce+9400+GT&ram=2&screenRes_width_FPS=1920&screenRes_height_FPS=1080&checkSubmit=#systemrequirementsSo even if the gpu COULD run TF, it wouldn’t be near powerful enough to run it over 30 fps on more than minimum settings especially in late game maps where there are far more buildings, vehicles, people, etc to render.
Assuming your computer IS a desktop, I’d recommend upgrading your gpu to something more modern like a Geforce 610 or Radeon HD 6450 for about $45 USD if you want a cheap card that can handle the game at at least 30 fps. Personally I’d recommend you getting a Radeon R7 250 or Geforce 650 for $80-$100 USD to really enjoy the game at mid to high settings and increase your ram to 4GB (I recommend 8gb if you have Windows 64-bit and your computer supports it.)
Don’t worry about your CPU though it’s old but it should handle the game just fine. I hope this helps.
jm764ParticipantI’m almost certain it’s the GeForce 9400 GT causing the problem. The game requires a minimum of Open GL 2.2 support and your gpu only has Open GL 2.1 support maximum. Granted I’ve gotten the game to run on cards with 2.1 but with major problems even though the card was more than enough to max the game out on (in theroy). I’ll try testing it on another gpu similar to it if I can.
jm764Participant@andy024 I see. Well are you sure WIndows 10 didn’t auto update the drivers?
Did you make any major graphical changes in the game or the Nvidia settings for all programs?
Do you use mods?
Does this happen on new and/or old save games?
jm764ParticipantI have gotten the game to run (albeit not too well) on my Asus Transformer Book T100 Windows 8/10 Tablet with an Intel Atom Z3740 Cpu at 1.33GHZ, an Intel HD Graphics 4000 Gpu and 2GB of ram at minimum settings at 1366 x 768.
You can find and compare you computer(s) to the minimum, recommended, and maximum settings here: http://www.game-debate.com/games/index.php?g_id=20506&game=Train%20Fever
jm764ParticipantWhat Os and Gpu are you running?
September 5, 2015 at 00:37 in reply to: Train is "blocked", even thought there is an available route for it. #19489jm764ParticipantCan you upload the save file so we can test it, I think I know what it might be but I probably won’t be able to truly re-create it on a different map.
jm764ParticipantWell I decided to postpone the review for a week since the update for TF came out and Im still looking over it. But in it’s place I will be streaming the game today so feel free to watch me play and I will try to answer an questions you may have about the game. ^_^
https://gaming.youtube.com/watch?v=eiH4xBn3MIsjm764Participantthat is the one I looked at in my second test.
jm764ParticipantHmm. I just tested it again and I see what you mean. All I can say is just make the line A-B only. The station is merged as “A” but it has side “A” and side “A1” it seems they default to side “A”.
jm764ParticipantHello everyone, this is jm764 again.
I plan on making a review of Train Fever either tomorrow or possibly the day after which will be on the 4th.
I have many things I want to review about the game, but I’m curious as to what you will want me to cover in the review. Just comment below and I’ll try my best to cover your topic.

jm764ParticipantIt looks like there’s little demand to go from stop A to B, there is plenty from B to A2 and the other stops, but passengers still use A to go to B just not as many as A2 to E.
I tested the map and it seems that the time to travel from the entire route from A to B is pretty long as it is technically the last stop on the list. The game picks A2 as the “true” starting stop as it covers the inter city lines then A is considered an outbound stop as it connects to B.
September 3, 2015 at 00:10 in reply to: Train is "blocked", even thought there is an available route for it. #19402jm764ParticipantThe problem is the way signals define a “clear” path. The signals use “path”not “block” based and dependent upon the “line” not the nearest available clear path.
Simply remove one of the signals on the single track lines and that should fix it.
I can go into detail as to what causes this if you want.
jm764ParticipantWindows Update isn’t the best way to upgrade graphics drivers as it normally downloads an older version than the currently available version for your gpu. I’d suggest going to the gpu manufacturer’s site (Amd, Nvidia, Intel, etc.) and downloading the drivers from their site directly.
jm764ParticipantThis has been a problem since the game was in beta. The game will still work in offline mode reguardless (for me atleast) but it takes a few seconds to minutes for it to load the menu options.
jm764ParticipantYou can try editing the setting.lua file to a lower resolution to see if it will work.
You can usually find it here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\144826119\304730\local
Example:
…
windowSize = {
1920, 1080,
},
…To:
…
windowSize = {
1024, 768,
},
…Note: I made the resolution smaller in the example but I’d suggest making it as big as the monitor can display if possible. Also some menus may still go outside the screen, usually with mods expanding the list. There isn’t a fix for that.
