@donener
Welcome.
Well the “Pfadsignal” (Path Signal) is simply used to create a “signal block” between that signal and the one in front or behind it to keep trains from “colliding” with each other and also can be set to “one way” so trains can only pass through on one side in one direction but not the other.
The ““Wegpunkt”” (Waypoint) on the other hand is just a tool used in a line to tell a train to pass through it like a station or signal but doesn’t allow two trains to pass through it at the same time without a signal near it. Signals can also be used as way points.
The slowdown is probably due to the gpu if it is an older model, if you know the specs post them then I can try to narrow it down.
Hope this helps!

Yeah I know it’s a bit long for just two vehicles but I just wanted everyone to have some thing to see and play around with from the official Dlc to promote it to those who haven’t seen or don’t really care for the Dlc to give it a chance. Wish I had more but those where the only two share with me at the time and I though the Dlc would have been out by now (guess not ^_^;). Also the second video is for alot more for non Dlc American vehicles that I found to be nice to have if there aren’t any equivalents in the other 25 unlisted vehicles the devs have.
No problem, and it sure does look great. I hope the creator DukeaufDune will make more vehicles like it in the future.
I agree that it does look abit odd hauling small trains since it was built to haul 125+ cars up mountains, that and since I actually had the liberty of seeing the real one up close (in a museum) it just makes everything seem even smaller to me! XD
And yes industry does need a bigger boost as the map I have in the video has all it’s cities served completely by only 3 industries and their production is maxed.
jm764ParticipantPart Two of the Video. I decided to cover some mods that you might want to download after the Dlc is released if they aren’t already in the list that the devs have planned.
All models are copyrighted by their creators.
jm764ParticipantA very great job you’ve done with the GG1. ^_^
Mind if I test it along side the Big Boy and Silver Streak (aka Pioneer Zepher) that the other mod community creators shared with me as a pre-dlc preview to record a video on next?
jm764ParticipantWell the date is actually the day they wanted the community modders to submit their work to Urban Games to be picked for the dlc.
I’d guess the dlc would be nearer to the end of the month (say the 20th) or so.
jm764ParticipantPersonally I’d patch the game since it now runs far smoother than the original release (at least for me) and has a few new features that the original didn’t.
Also here’s the patch log of all the updates released since the game launched: http://www.train-fever.com/forums/topic/release-notes/
jm764ParticipantIt’s possible to use them for passenger service, but only on short lines as main line use is all but worthless. Besides the original locomotive was built to haul goods trains up and down mountain routes with fairly sharp curves. Best to use it for freight.
jm764ParticipantWow that seriously eclipses my specs by far, but sure I’ll link it.

Btw i have a second pc and it runs at max as well.
Cpu: Phenom II 955 BE
Gpu: HD Radeon 7850 Asus Direct CU II
Ram: 12GB
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit
Don’t worry I’ve gotten the game to work on my gaming laptop and PC’s that are FAR worse!
Gaming Laptop:
Cpu: i5-430m
Gpu: Geforce Gts 360m
Ram: 4GB
OS: Windows “10” preview 64-bit
Worst PC i’ve run the game on (Min settings with acceptable lag):
CPU: Atom Z3775
GPU: Intel HD Graphics Bay Trail(performs like a Intel HD 2000)
Ram: 2GB
OS: Windows 8.1 32-bit
Over all though it seems the game doesn’t perform as well (crashes more) on Nvidia based gpus then it does on AMD/Intel based ones. That or it just hates my old cards.
jm764Participant9,355 people between 7 cities on a small map.
Largest city has 1.7k pop.
I can link the map if you want.
jm764ParticipantThe game is heavily based on processing than the graphics card or ram (unless on a large map with alot of stuff) so the type of processor matters.
What type of processor/gpu do you have? I can run a heavily modified small may on max settings at 60 fps and very little lag and has cities with over 1k pop each. Also traffic is at a perfect stand still in and between the cites.
My Specs:
Cpu: i7-4790 (I know it’s WAY to powerful, but it works)
Gpu: geforce gtx 260 (216 core) galaxy OC+ edition (An ok mid/high lv card by today’s standards)
Ram: 8GB (more than enough)
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64-Bit at 1920 x 1080 (1080P rez)
Also to avoid/reduce traffic simply upgrade roads to 4 lanes between cities and add more if needed.
jm764ParticipantOk. It seems this pack is more or less abandoned right now, BUT I HAVE GREAT NEWS…
I’m probably going to start commissioning (paying) you guys to help make models for the game.
anyway if you guys want to help out for free then thats good too! ^_^

jm764Participant@Jonathan078NL and everyone else.
By the way, ANY locomotive made in The US, Canada, and Mexico for domestic/international use can be added to this mod.
Examples:
Class E (“Ye”): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_locomotive_class_Ye
DSB class MY: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DSB_Class_MY
and many more…
OF COURSE, the American only locomotives come first! 😉
