ParticipantI agree they could be bigger / grow faster. Playing from 1850 – 1996 I didn’t even get a 750 city, and it was my Main Hub.
A tad way to look at things;http://steamcommunity.com/stats/304730/achievements/
Only 0.3% have gotten a 1,500 city. Only 3% have gotten a 750 pop city..

ParticipantYup train running cost is really high compared to Trucks/Trams. It’s a balance issue for sure. You can try and use the Cost Mod, and make Running Cost cheaper, but it does that for ALL running cost. So it just makes trams/trucks cheaper aka more profit. While just making trains cheaper. Aka your gonna make money no matter what.
So really, its a balance thing that Devs need to sort out.

ParticipantStill waiting to see some of your Work in Progress Jim. I know you are asking others to help, but we still have yet to see your work. I called you out on this in your other thread, and you never responded. It’s nothing personal, but lets see some of your work as this is your project. Before you start just accepting everyone else work. You did say you’d have something to show us last week, No 100 or something.
Just saying bud. Importing from other games is great and all, but hope you getting Permission and credit given where do if Community made.

ParticipantGotta agree as well, does take a little to long. My first save was 300~ people, and I didn’t even get the city achievement, as I was around like 600~. This was from 1850 – 1995, and was my main hub town.

ParticipantThere is this great mod that offers more trees, different color grass/fields. Also less smoke (Helps performance in early years <1900).
Supports TFMM (Train Fever Mod Manager)
EDIT: Far as houses, the Simulation does that aka Population just needs to grow.

ParticipantIt’s being worked on. If you happen to read the “Post Release Plans” on the Main page, you’d see its in their To-Do list…
Also there is a Tool out already by Community to help this til a official fix;

Participant+1 can be a tad unrealistic / annoying. But it also could be a game balance thing that just needs more fine tuning. Either way, I wouldn’t complain of one such feature 😉

ParticipantLet’s get some massive road trains going hehe

ParticipantCould you post a Screenshot, along with your Line window open? Be easier to help. It sounds like you doing nothing wrong though.

ParticipantA good way to view it , is via Steamcharts.
http://steamcharts.com/app/304730
So approx 3k copies have been SOLD and PLAYED WITH. That’s not counting sold copies that haven’t launched the game yet or maybe not gotten it in mail etc.
3k ain’t shabby for day 2, from a indie dev and for a Tycoon/Sim game. It’ll rise over time, and even more so if YouTube stars pick it up and do Lets Plays, and then its gonna be a flock of people!
TL;DR A success

ParticipantTry a good old Driver Update, and make sure you selected “Clean old drivers” or something like that when installing them (NV) that is. That and maybe just some good ol PC maintenance, try a cCleaner run. Gonna bet its drivers too!

ParticipantYour card isn’t overheating or anything is it? You on latest GFX drivers as well?

ParticipantWe had a Reddit topic about this earlier today/last night, that was sorta explaining things. Basically, things need to be close and of course within a 20min distance, or they just gonna avoid your line.
Didn’t have a great example in my current game, so here I made a quick [proof of concept](http://i.imgur.com/J2fzaJ5.jpg) for you. The wood is delivered from the Forestry on the left to the sawmill on the right through the chain of Trucks -> Train -> Trucks.
Note that the goods produced in the sawmill also automatically make use of the train line to make a small shortcut on their route to a town in the south.
Is how one mate explained it to me effectively.
