You could use the ‘no costs’ mod. Then you won’t have worry about money.
Norfolk_ChrisParticipantIt’s here! It’s Train-Fever on steroids.
Norfolk_ChrisParticipant+1
Norfolk_ChrisParticipantThe comments posted so far are all speculation.
We do do not know anything about the new game yet except it will feature trains and that, unlike Train-Fever Urban Games are developing it in a partnership with Gambitious Digital Entertainment. What effect this will have is yet totally unknown.
I would guess that the game will be moddable, as their attitude to modding of Train-Fever has been very positive.
Norfolk_ChrisParticipantI use Steam, all games are updated immediately an update is released.
Sounds like MacGameStore are rubbish!
Norfolk_ChrisParticipantStart Train-Fever.
In Train-Fever menu select ‘New Game’.
You will see a choice of ‘Basic’ and ‘Advanced’.
Select ‘Advanced’.
You will see a list of configurable settings; select ‘Terrain’.
You will now have a list of possible terrains for your game: ‘European’, ‘American’, ‘Winter’ and also ‘North European’ if you have installed the Nordic DLC.
Select ‘Winter’.
Your generated map will have a snow covered winter landscape.

Norfolk_ChrisParticipantI agree!
These are serious bugs that should be fixed. Urban game should acknowledge this produce another ‘final’ patch to fix these and any other other unresolved bugs.
Norfolk_ChrisParticipantYour pictures completely miss my point. I referring to to cuttings and embankment created when we create a railway line (or road), not the natural environment.
You can see these clearly on a picture I posted on Train-Fever.net:
https://www.train-fever.net/index.php/Thread/4639-Graphics-glitch-in-Nordic-DLC-build-7554/
The creators of the Nordic DLC say that this is a deliberate ‘feature’. Decide for yourself if you like it, if you do that’s great, if you don’t I’m showing a solution.
Norfolk_ChrisParticipantI usually build double tracks on my main inter-city lines initially as it to saves the hassle of having to upgrade them later. I find that with single track lines its almost always necessary to upgrade later as traffic grows. (I always start in 1850 on a large map.)
For smaller dedicated freight lines, or short branch lines, a single track generally adequate. Once they are running satisfactorily its not necessary to increase the frequency as traffic grows, just make the trains longer.
Norfolk_ChrisParticipantLooks like you PC has may have insufficient spec to run a large map.
To get a definitive answer you need to post this on the ‘support’ forum giving you PC’s spec.
Norfolk_ChrisParticipantI’ve found another strange feature of the Nordic DLC. Earthworks (cuttings, embankments etc.) are rendered in a dull grey colour, not grass green as one would expect.
Just why anyone would want grey earthworks is beyond my understanding, they are both horrible and unrealistic. The good news is that you can remove this feature by simply removing (or renaming) the ‘shaders’ folder in the DLC’s ‘res’ file.
The file can be found in your folder (Windows): C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Train Fever\dlcs\nordic_1\res

Norfolk_ChrisParticipantNo, it’s not possible to lower tracks without first demolishing them.
Urban games promised that trains would not swap direction when tracks are modified in the latest patch. Does this include not loosing all their passengers (or cargo) as well? Has anyone tested this?
Norfolk_ChrisParticipantUpdate.
Have run a couple of tests and found that this problem only applies to the Nordic DLC, the default and USA versions work OK.
The problem with the Nordic DLC is present in new games as well as save-games.
Norfolk_ChrisParticipantThanks for advice! I have made the upgrade and everything is OK.
Another reason for the free upgrade is that Microsoft probably intends withdraw it’s support for W7 & W8 in the not to distant future.
