@rick: It depends. Generally they’re spaced evenly, however I think if the gap is too big they will just go and there will be “X amount of space” between them. Generally though my trains go regularly enough to be evenly spaced, only 1 line in my game is not.
Person012345ParticipantAre you even playing the same game as me? Vehicles auto-space themselves. It’s a feature I very much like and think all transport sims should have. Why do I keep seeing people crying about spacing?
Person012345ParticipantTip: Maxis were lying when they said computers couldn’t handle all the computing and that’s why a. they made cities tiny and b. they had to make it always-on. Check out some of Colossal Order’s games for evidence.
Person012345ParticipantMy reccommendation is: I don’t know.
I really just have to echo the sentiments that others have, the game is fun enough but it is very rough around the edges right now. There are not just bugs, but a number of frustrating oversights that mean I can’t exactly recommend it, but I also don’t not-recommend it because it is fun and is a solid enough base.
I guess I’d say I think you’re doing the right thing by erring on the side of caution. Give it a few months and see what the devs do with it before laying down some money.
Edit: Or you would have been doing it, having just read the last post xD

Person012345ParticipantI hope that issues like this, and the fact that some trains can’t even approach their maximum speed because the cars available when they are are too slow, get fixed by DLC that has more stuff.
Person012345ParticipantIf you want a recommendation for another game, try simutrans if you haven’t already. It’s another freeware modification of TTD but I like it better because of the passenger mechanics (people and cargo all have a specific destination, like TF, and if you haven’t connected their origin with their destination they won’t ride). It also has a huge amount of freedom when it comes to designing your transport network and a vast number of vehicles (depending on the pakset you use). Of course the downside is that the graphics are old style.
Person012345ParticipantTry playing on an easier difficulty.
Person012345ParticipantObviously it works with passengers so I’d assume it is supposed to work with goods too. Though goods seem kinda buggy at the moment as people said. I couldn’t figure out how to make them work properly at all in my game.
Person012345ParticipantHere’s a couple of example from my first game of steeply sloped parts of my track, and how to make it work:

Person012345ParticipantFor 2b, you realise there is a button for each line that sends all vehicles on that line to depot and sells them automatically right? You click that button, buy replacement new things and click set all to aforementioned line. It’s not remotely difficult they way they have it set up right now.
