The color is off, at least the cylinder cock steam should be white, and the main smokestack should have darker smoke.

Since it’s steam that comes out of the cylinder cocks it should be white indeed but I think the colour of the smoke is quite realistic. I compared it with pictures, I took from Swiss steam engines in motion, which also show that the smoke isn’t always the same. The main thing I would complain about is that the color changes while it puffs up.

    Same engine, same day:

So I think we could live with a slightly changed smoke since the smoke is quite diffrent from situation to situation (weather, engine state). Maybe the developers could give us the chance to change the appearance of smoke for each locomotive.

There’s no catchment radius because as long as the have a time advantage using this station the inhabitants will use it if I got that right. So if you place stations like busstations close to each other people won’t have to walk that far and are more likely to use your bus. But if you have only one train station in town and some people have to walk for quite a long time to get there, they still might use it to travel in other cities. However I already asked if we could have a optional layer in the game which shows how long it takes (by foot) from each house to walk to the next station.

    DEUTSCH:

    ENGLISH:

I’m sorry to bring up this old topic again but I think roads can influence the gameplay of train-fever pretty much.

    1. I would really like to have one-way-roads in the initial release of train-fever. They don’t need to be generated by the game. It would be really helpful if the player could make streets one-way-roads as long the traffic can enter and leave the street. This way it would be really easy to manage traffic in city centres.
    2. Have you thought about speed limits on roads? I think it’s a quite important part in desicion if the agents take public transport or their car. I think the computer should decide the speed limits in general. For example 50 kph in cities, 80 kph outside of urban area and 120 kph on highways and some lower limits if necessary in curves. But it would also be interesting if the player could set speed limits for certain roads for example 30 kph in city centres or 60 kph for a main road through a village. You can also manage in a way where traffic goes and if people take PT when you change speed limits.
