Youre not placing signals enough if that’s happening. When you build a line, CHECK IT, open the lines info box (the one with the list of stops on it) and the line itself will be highlighted along the track. Follow the entire length, take nothing for granted. If you have a double track and trains are only using one side, then you’ve got the signals wrong.

That is very bizare, if it was just electric, then we’d know the reason, if just frieght, then the same but JUST diesel and electric but steam works? Stumped.

The main problem with is I can think of is the actual game engine itself. Have you ever tried upgrading your towns roads to larger four lane ones? How many times won’t it let you because of ‘terrain / collision error’ ? I simply don’t think it would work very well here at all. In CIM2, Simcity, etc. you are playing in a fixed time period and you can plan your layout but here, the town has been evolving from a little village since the 1800’s. Can you imagine the difficulties in changing a normal road to a six lane wide avenue? (4 car lanes and 2 center tram lanes) Even the standard 4 lane width (2 tram, 2 car) ould be hard as the standard road cannot be upgraded to 4 lanes most of the time, unless of course, youre happy to buldoze those nice big buildings in your town center.

    The freight system is weird.

Never a truer word hath been spoken.

This maybe a silly question but are you sure the stations are correct? ie, passenger or cargo as they should be. I set up a new Truck route yesterday and got the same error, I was scratching my head and calling the game names when I discovered that I had put passenger bus stations instead of cargo ones by mistake, doh!

Its very strange that other people, including myself don’t get the issue you describe and yet it’s basicaly the same software! Are you getting this in new games after recent patches?

Of course, I did say that myself but as usual they decided to release something that was untested and make themselves look stupid. Never mind, I’m just glad that someone read the forums and fixed it.

I’m afraid the recommended specs are total bullshit. There is a very long thread on Steam itself about the same thing, my last PC build was better than your specs and it struggled. Now I have an AMD FX6350 at 3.9ghz, 8gb RAM and a Radeon HD6950 1GB and it JUST copes. The performance has improved over the past few patches but I don’t believe you’ll ever get it to run with Intel graphics. As for the Mac user, I’ve read there are a lot more issues with the MAC version but not being one myself, no nothing about them.

I’m sure there ARE ‘subway’ systems in a couple of smallish towns but on the whole, I think it’s a luxury we don’t need. I’d rather the developers FIXED what we have got, instead of being distracted with more stuff. Lets get the buslanes working, then we will have better buses, trams AND a ‘light rail’ system as we’ll be able to use single lane bus lane roads as light rail tracks. This will negate any need for subways but if you insist on them, as I said before, you can build underground rails and sunken stations, it just costs a fortune!

Respectfully, this is the Train Fever forum, not a graphics card hardware / software support forum. All makes of cards have different software suits and methods of installation. I recommend you google the manufacturers website, look for ‘support’ and you will usually find a link to download your latest software.

Bloody hell, you don’t do things by half do you?!!!

If Urban Games put this kind of thought into the game, we wouldn’t have half the issues we do now, that’s for sure.

You mentioned there is no tilt function and you cant see the horizon? Well, I can on mine, clicking and holding the mouse scroll wheel allows you to tilt as does two of the keyboard keys, R and F I think.

I totally agree about being able to collapse minor windows but still be able to see the info. Many times I’ve wanted to keep an eye on a route or a vehicle so have left it open in a corner but of course, the PC is then having to render all of it’s movements as well. Being able to close the viewpoint but keep info like speed, passengers/cargo, etc. would be useful and save screen space to boot.

Haven’t had time to read the rest yet but I hope someone at Urban Games does, some very good points that they would be foolish to miss.

Yes, they do grow and the above screens are very impressive. However, if you scale them to the real word, they are still no more than small towns and nothing of that size would EVER have a subway system, it would just make no ecconomic sence. You need a CITY to warrent a subway and Train Fever doesnt have them, period.

Anyway, can, well, sort of, have subways. Just build a sunken staion. It’s expensive and the staion itself has to be open to the sky but can be done with all the track being underground.

Well, seems they have answered, in a fashion, by releasing a patch today fixing the above issue!

Sorry to hear that guys, i’m afraid this games developers are amatuer at best and it’s VERY rare to get hold of them directly. Anyway, it’s a school day so they’ll be busy……

Have you tried re installing the game from the steam page? Maybe refreshing the game’s cache would help.
