    I have a Macbook Pro 2014 I can play on minimal to mid settings (I don’t like playing on it though as it gets rather hot, my previous Macbook died from bad graphics chip) I game on i7, 16GB GTX980ti windows machine.

    On your Macbook Air it’s possible (meets minimum specs), but I’d never recommend gaming on it.

    Released another KiwiRail mod a set of IAB Flabed wagons and uploaded my additional progress from the past year (DL Class & AK Series).
    As I’ll be working on upgrading my models to incorporate the interiors, these are the last updates for Train Fever.

    Hi Noobster,

    Don’t know if your still around as I’m 4 months late but, I can help you out adding your models into the game.

    As for what Train Fever can handle I’ve used this post from the dev’s as a rule of thumb;

    though of course the game can handle higher detail, but then lod’s are a must.

    Why did you decide to buy from MGS?

    I play on both Mac & Windows and still I usually only buy from Steam or hard-copy.

    For any early birds interested. I’ve released my AK series early on train-fever.net as I like playing other games as well.
    It’s not finished quite yet. Still needs work on the textures{minor details}, add spectacular maps and the main saloon and café still need L.O.D’s (they are above average on the poly count).

    Is the DLC installed?
    you’ll need to turn it on. In your games Library or Game-properties.

    You’ll need to unpack the zip folder into Train Fever’s mods folder. for steam users;
    ~\Steam\SteamApps\common\Train Fever\mods
    Each mod will have it’s own folder, like so:

    :: NEWS UPDATE ::
    Updated the DL class for USA-dlc. So from now on it’s unlikely I’ll be actively supporting TFMM or TFGM.
    The AK series is coming along slowly haven’t had much time on my hands, also took a little break. I’ve further done some home work on New Zealand locomotives and have come up with a list.

    Thumbs up for Ola!
    How on earth did you figure it out?

    Indeed Game Manager is a fantastic tool, as is Mod Manager.
    Just when saying Download Manager I was thinking of the same thing that Trainz has with all the assets you can browse and download.

    @medopu lol I was thinking of that interview as well xD

    so far my experience on performance has been with out issues from the start. Game features have improved a lot in telling you whats wrong. I haven’t had much time to play though since I finished one play-threw(1850-2050) I’ve been more busy modding.

    So I’ve finally discovered the reason my mods don’t map textures in the TFMV, I just don’t know what the cause is.

    What I think might be the cause;
    • Sketchup method of handeling layers.
    • Sketchup exporting as .3ds (also Sketchup’s .3ds export is the only format that won’t crash the converter).
    • Sketchup exporter period

    Results;
    • When exporting just Textures and not Materials to .3ds, I have missing objects (still textures arn’t mapped).
    • When I have the materials as texture in Sketchup “Color by Layers” then export the material is rotated 90˚ on some faces and shifted on others.
    • When rotating/flipping UVmap with either Texture or Material still doesn’t display correct.

    My next step was install Blender and TF-plugin tool and import my model but still when I export from blender I get the same result despite the material being correctly mapped in Blender.
    What am I missing?
    How are you guys getting yours mods to display correctly in TFMV?
    I’m using Sketchup 8, also converting from Sketchup 14 yields the same result.
    And no TFMV isn’t the issue as all other models and mods display correct.
