    Thank you for your replies.

     

    I have figured as much: building the infrastructure for bus transport between cities (highway / 4 lane road with higher speed limit) caused people started using it. As I progressed through time, my lines were making less and less money while having same frequency. The only explanation is people used cars to get where they wanted.

    If you bother with reading, you will find out what happened with the busses.

    About your theories on half full profitable trains: Metroliner has base running cost 960k/year and packs 81 passangers. You need 11852 per passanger at full capacity. 41 passangers in the train do not come close to covering the expenses.
