I trie to first stop the game, then buy the new vehicle, send the oldones back to depote and sell, and in the same time i set up the new vehicle to the same line. so there is nor big cap and the frequency does not drop. and this game is all about the frequency. i can imagen it is difficult to do this on single track railroads. in this situation, i also pause the game right after the train i want to replace gets to the station and drops of the passengers, then i ll send him to the depote and sell it. at the same time i already bought the new train and i set it to the lane. keep in mind this works easy with double track, for single track you need to figure out wich way the train will leave the depote (if you made a crossing in both direction) and the train which will be sold, should come from the other direction, so they do not get stuck.

this process is getting harder and will accure more often the further you’ll get, or the bigger your network is.

    this needs to be done.

Hello there, i don’t know about lowering the gamespeed and adjusting the income in the same way (50% lower timespeed and 50% lower income). The thing is, when you lower income your progress will be slower, especially at early years, when you start to build out your network. And later in the game money should’nt be problem, when you finished building a solid network. When you lower the gamespeed and lower income equaly, your progress will not change from the current game with that speed.

I’m totaly fine with the idea of the time pasing slower, but we can just cut time and income by the same amount, or els your progress ingame would be the same as it is now. In that case the game would be realy boring.

My idea would be. Lower the time passing by 50%, and let the income as it is now or lower it a bit. Increase the possibility to waste money on new stuff. Stuff like, neutral buildings which increase city crow and increase demand, so you need more vehicles so you can spend more money. Also add more industiral chain’s but not, or rare industry wich we have to move from one side of the map to the other side.  They could also add more vehicle to the game or mabye add some desasters like, traincrashes or so which have an impack in the traffic flow and the passangers useing the crash trainline less not so often anymore.

The thing is, we want the time to be way slower than it is right now. But I do not want to spend 1h more of waiting till i get my next Station/Train/Linesetup or even new vehicle because i can’t effort it, or the time is so much slower.

But the most interesting things I’ve come up with, are simulation changing and could take a while until they are in the game. The easiest way to balance is, to add more contant where you can spend you money with. But it should affect your game experience and the game.

I kinda understand the idea behind the current timespeed.

So, that are my thoughts on it.

I love the idea, but it is not as simple as it sounds like.

The frequency works kinda Like this. Passengers will only use your transportation service if the travel time from point A to point B is shorter then the time it would take them to walk that distance. Same goes For cargo. Waiting time is also be taken in the calculation.

So, if you decrease the waiting time by adding more vehicle to one lane (increase frequency) they will Mord likely use tue transportation service.

At early game i only used one tram line per city, with one line connecting the brightest green/red/blue Zone And tue trainstation. I never tried to cover the whole city. Can anyone give me some feedback how this will affacte the cities in the long?

never use train’s in a city.

at early year’s you only need to connect the brightest spots in one city. e.g. try one station in the bright green, one in the bright red and one in the bright blue zone. then connect those stations. you do not need to make a loop. after that you can do a station at you train station and then connect one city with another with the railroad and in that city you can image that build. also you need to keep the frequency low (at around 100sec at early game).

i think you need to build a loop track. i don’t think trains can switch tracks in a station/or on trackend like trams can.

but instead of building a hugh loop where your train can circle to get on the other track (which would take some time). you can do a crossing right at the end of the station, when your train has already turned and is heading back to the other station.

    Hello,

    1. Savegames are being stored in your steamfolder  ….\Steam\userdata\….  search for a savegamename here.

    2. For Trains i recomend a frequency of less then 10 min. The longer the game the lower the frequency should be.Roadvehicles frequency should be very low, i tried to keep it at around 100 sec .

    3. It depends on the frequency and the passenger which will be left on the station.

    Thanks for the response.

I will try the to get the industry running early.

How did it take to get a city with ~900 pop, and how many trains are running on that line and how many passengers do they transport?

At around the year 1970 there are no other vehicles for the tram. For the trains, i replaced them, but after a drop of runningcosts in the year ~1920 , when you finaly can build electic trains, the cost greatly increase, but the passengers do not increase or sometimes drop. So the lines become less or not profitable.
