Do you even get into the main-menu or doesn’t this even work?

Have you tried to delete the texture_cache folder and start it again?

What’s your pc specs.

This is my setup:

Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 32 bit
Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E4600 @ 2.4GHz
GeForce GT640 using 340.32 driver (latest)
