Was having problems running Train Fever through Steam and Googled the problem, found it was possibly related to my anti-virus (AVG). Though I disagree with the devs suggestion of disabling my anti-virus, so rather than compromise my computer’s security I opted for a different approach.
I remembered that AVG has an exceptions option, so I went to that and added Train Fever as an exception. Ran the game and everything worked fine.
I would recommend submitting the exe (or file it tagged as suspicious) to AVG for analysis, that way, they can update AVG so it does not happen in the future. But yes, adding an exception is far better than disabling the entire AV for a single game.
