Install mods on Mac without Steam /forums/topic/install-mods-on-mac-without-steam/ Wed, 13 Jan 2016 21:22:28 +0000 /forums/topic/install-mods-on-mac-without-steam/ Continue reading ]]> Totally puzzled. All help I could find would mention Steam installs on Mac. But I get the game trough macgamestore (Steam-less like GAG?). So the directory structure is completely different.

Roughly there are two locations:

1. Applications/MacGameStore/Games/Train Fever (and below is  basically core game files). Probably shall not be touched in linux/osx traditions.

2. Users/ZZZ/Library/Application Support/Train Fever/… here all the local data would go, save games, caches etc.

TFMM does not recognise any of those locations. And I can not figure out directory structure to place mods in #2 manually.

Any tips are appreciated!

mac build 514948 crashes at end-of-month /forums/topic/mac-build-514948-crashes-at-end-of-month/ Tue, 10 Feb 2015 19:28:25 +0000 /forums/topic/mac-build-514948-crashes-at-end-of-month/ Continue reading ]]> Train Fever often crashes at the end of the month when many expenses are all calculated at once.  On the last day of a month (e.g. June 30, 1923) the game will freeze for several seconds (10-30).  After the several second freeze the game will sometimes continue to function, but other times the game will crash to the desktop without option for a crash report.

Here are my specs:

OS: OSX 10.10.2 Yosemite

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2013)

Processor: 2.6 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory: 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics: Intel Iris 1536 MB

Thanks! This game is great, I love it, but this bug is making the game unplayable.  It crashes too often, maybe once every 10 in-game months.  I’ve noticed that the bug appears to be worse after I’ve created a large rail/road network, end-of-month freezes are longer, and crashes are more common.

Is there a playable demo for people interested in buying? /forums/topic/is-there-a-playable-demo-for-people-interested-in-buying/ Tue, 06 Jan 2015 23:35:02 +0000 /forums/topic/is-there-a-playable-demo-for-people-interested-in-buying/ Continue reading ]]> OK, I’ve read a lot about Train Fever in the past few months, followed discussions here, reviews on Steam, and I’ve seen various “Let’s Play” videos on YouTube. However, I’ve always been hesitant to buy the game because I’m just not sure whether it will work on my system or it would just be wasted money. So, I’d really like to try the game before I buy; is there a playable demo or something?

I should note that I’m on a 13″ MacBook Pro (max resolution 1280×800px) with 2,9 GHz Intel Core i7, 8 GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB GPU, and I’m running OS 10.10.1 (Yosemite). And I’ve read somewhere that I need a Steam account to play this game? I’m an old fashioned guy and I’d rather like a standalone game that I can play without mandatory internet connection, if possible.

I’d appreciate any help.

TF Root Directory Location on OSX /forums/topic/tf-root-directory-location-on-osx/ Sun, 26 Oct 2014 13:20:28 +0000 /forums/topic/tf-root-directory-location-on-osx/ Continue reading ]]> Hey all! I want to be able to add these mods to TF but I cannot get into my root folder to change the lua files.  In fact I can’t find them at all.

I’m on OSX 10.9.2 and I’ve located the Train Fever file itself following the path, Users/’username’/Applications/Train Fever and when I right-click on “show package contents” I see two folders with very little content, none of them being scripts.  I do the same thing going through the Steam folder and nothing is there either.

Help would be appreciated!

Mac Version Unplayable /forums/topic/mac-version-unplayable/ Mon, 15 Sep 2014 16:09:57 +0000 /forums/topic/mac-version-unplayable/ Continue reading ]]> Hello all,

Been looking forward to this game for awhile now and am excited to get going with it hopefully sooner rather than later because after purchasing I have yet to be able to last more than 2 or 3 minutes in the game before it crashes on me.

MacBook Pro 2013 | Mac OSX 10.9 | 2.9 GHz i7 | 8GB RAM

Had game breaking graphics issues every time on launch and now the game will lock up my whole computer when it runs forcing me to do a hard reboot. I fully understand the risks of buying a game still in development but I just hope it can get to a playable point soon because I have already paid for it and really do not want to lose faith in what looks like a great game.

Thank you

Mac version won't start /forums/topic/mac-version-wont-start/ Mon, 15 Sep 2014 12:55:56 +0000 /forums/topic/mac-version-wont-start/ Continue reading ]]> Hello team, firstly danke schön for an already addictive game. Played on my PC loads already.

My mac however, won’t run. Mac OSX 10.7.5, which allegedly runs according to your specs.

Steam installs it fine, but when you run it, after 3 seconds where I’m shown in game in my friends list, I am returned to the library screen. Nothing visually changes. Occasionally I get a small window saying it’s loading, but 90% I don’t.

From my steam console log, I get this:

15/09/2014 12:31:24.264 [0x0-0x49049].com.valvesoftware.steam: /Users/Administrator/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Train Fever/run.sh: line 2:  2621 Segmentation fault: 11  DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH=.:$DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH ./TrainFever

This is the only log I can find that indicates some sort of error. It’s referring to the small shell script created there.

Any thoughts? I can’t find anyone else with this issue.

Mac Version: some important suggestions /forums/topic/mac-version-some-important-suggestions/ Sat, 13 Sep 2014 13:15:37 +0000 /forums/topic/mac-version-some-important-suggestions/ Continue reading ]]> first of all: great Game, now that it runs on my mac! Also, the start of the Game ist very fast!

Following things i would like to bring to the devs:

1.) zooming mit Apple Magic Mouse

… is horrible – best would be to have an setting option to change sensitivity of the mouse scroll speed

2.) no angle view change on Magic Mouse

since this widely installed mouse has no middle-button to click, there is no chance to change the view or rotate the screen. Maybe enabling custom keys for this will help

3.) scrolling the map

i can scroll left and right, but not both with my mouse on the screenedge – with the cursor keys it is possible, but not with the mouse

if you could fix at least the first 2 points i (and of course most of all mac players) would be really happy.

Please let me know if you can/will fix this serious issues – of course there will be more bugs to fix before as they are more important

many thanks!!!

I was wondering if Train Fever would be on mac when it’s released or hopefully support will be added after the launch of the game. I’m looking ever forward to playing this game, when it is eventually released.
