Hi everyone, I just want to ask which piece of hardware is crucial for the performance. I have mediocre  notebook with i5 2,3GHz, 4GB RAM and 1GB GPU. During the game, only about 35% of CPU and 60% of RAM is used but it is still horribly laggy when reaching some year (usually 35-40 years after start). So is it the GPU? I have GeForce GT 325M, why then the minimal specs say, that 512MB is enough? With such a GPU it must be unplayable. Tack 🙂

The bottleneck right now is teh CPU.

Yes, the CPU is the bottleneck at the moment, but your graphics card don’t have enough memory, well, for working yes, but not enough for smooth performance.

I suggest you play on small maps at the moment. You need at least 3 GB VRAM for your graphics card for optimal performance. Try reducing texture levels in the options for better gameplay. Currently the ordinary RAM have to manage the data and transfer it between your graphics card and memory, which can cause major staggering.

I do hope the dev can put more attention in the coding of the game to optimise the performance.

So why isn’t then in specs: With such and such hardware, you will be able to run only small maps (a.k.a. 15% of the game offers). Even on a small maps it gets laggy very soon (note that I did not even try to have higher graphic options, everything is on low/off) and it is boring. Within 25 years I cover the whole map, make all possible connections. Do you think it is ok? I was able to run GTA IV smoothly, which (in my opinion) has very good graphic. Anyway, do you think, that upgrading RAM will help (upgrading GPU in laptop is not possible)?
