The train is not in the depot, and will not return to the depot, but I can’t bulldoze the depot because the train is in the way
The stations are definitely passenger station
There are no breaks in the track, I tried bulldozing a piece of track and the train status switches to no path until I rebuild the track, which would suggest the track is joined between the stations.
I tried to place signals as a test, no joy
I tried restarting the scenario and rebuilding the line, same issue.

Frustrating!!

It seems that all passengers would disembark at the middle station before passengers for the next station boarded, so my question is would any passengers want to go from A > C (the travel time is under 20 minutes).

 

The reason I’m asking is because the line was making huge losses and now that I have split it into 2 lines they both seem to be making a reasonable profit, however this is not realistic to real life and I’d like to have lines going through towns to their final destination

trains head on at signal are stuck

trains stopped at a signal head on. they would not reverse, nor could they find the way to the depot.

one thing worked: assigning one train to another line. i thought maybe it reverses then. it did, but also this happened:

trains passing through each other

 

the trains passed right through each other. … i was not sure if i was happy about this or not.

 

This here actually documents a multituded of bugs or design flaws:

  • trains can only be sent to a depot, if they can go there by going forward. if they would need to reverse to get there, they are lost.
  • trains can get stuck head on at a signal. and without a lucky workaround (which actually may only be possible due to yet ANOTHER bug)  they may be stuck there until the player quits and loads the last savegame.
  • when a train is assigned to a line, while it is out on the tracks, all kind of weired shit may happen. i am pretty sure of that. the passing through bug seems to be a result of the train assignment and not of the getting stuck head on bug.

And thats on a large map Which is why i seem to be the only one who bothered to get that achievment(as steam says 0.1 % got the achiement now, but before it said 0% ) 😀

People are waiting at B and wanting to go to C, do they wait for a train that is going in that direction of would they board a train headed in the direction of A because it is still the line they need to take

Line 3 shown has 2 stations and 2 trains, should the trains not be at apposite ends of the lines to give equal spacing. This isn’t my only line that works like this, I have another one that has 3 stations and 4 trains but they don’t seem to be spaced evenly. Can provide a savegame if necessary
