2. You are using a laptop and the game does not work
If you are using a laptop with two graphics cards, make sure that you select the dedicated / more powerful card as the primary device in the graphics card settings. It’s a very common problem that the less powerful graphics card is set as the primary device and as a consequences, games do not run.Therefore a small howto:
1. Open the Nvidia control panel
2. Open the tab 3D-settings -> 3D-settings management
3. locate the .EXE from train fever (c:\program files(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\trainfever\trainfever.exe)
4. select the dedicated GPU
5. click apply6. have fun!

I have the same problem as p490. I downloaded the newest drivers for both graphic cards and followed your stepts in the NVIDIA control panel – without success. Any ideas what might help?

I have just downloaded the game from Steam and am having similar problems. Initially I got the “update your drivers” message which I have done. I have also verified my game cache without problems.
Now the title page displays for about five seconds and then disappears as the program quits back to the desktop screen.
I am on an Acer aspire 7560G with a ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 graphic card.
Any thoughts?

Still crashes about 10 seconds after it opens.
But if I am quick I can hit NEW GAME and even START , the game says “preparing to play” and then crashes.
Most annoying
December 29, 2014 at 15:24 #15353snicksnickParticipantFor all guys with a laptop and two graphic cards, I found a solution in a german forum
http://www.train-fever.net/index.php/Thread/1541-Spiel-nutzt-NVIDIA-Grafik-nicht/?pageNo=3
You just have to change 2 variables in regedit.
Trains are running now! *happy*
