Error – Train Fever Official Website (archived) Sun, 02 Aug 2015 16:10:54 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.7.2 traffic jam, error report, workaround and solution /forums/topic/traffic-jam-error-report-workaround-and-solution/ Sun, 02 Aug 2015 16:10:54 +0000 /forums/topic/traffic-jam-error-report-workaround-and-solution/ Continue reading ]]> I read plenty of traffic jam mails here,. I think, to avoid thos is one of the intended challenges of the game.

But I have observed 2 cases, where I think the simulation software is responsible

1) On a street with two lanes for each direction, a car with an intended left turn should use the left lane.

2) A vehicle which is doing a U-turn on the street (e.-g. at the end of its route) should ths do only, when all parts of the vehicle fits on the new lane.

How to reproduce this situation: I created an intended traffic jam in Lane A at the end of the route of a tram with horses which is coming frome Lane B and has to make a U-turn into the jam on lane A. What you see is, that the horses make the turn, but the rest not.

Lane B is now blocked as long as there is a jam on lane A.

Lane A is not blocked. The traffic goes “through” the horse.

This problem does not happen anymore, when the tram is replaced by a horse-less tram.

I think, the software solution is that the vehicle in lane A which stopped to allow the U-turn from B, should give space for the whole turning vehicle (horse + tram).

As a workaround you can stop the traffic on lane A and allow the U-turn. Or you use only vehicles which makes the U-turn in one single step.

But maybe the best solution is: Do not allow U-turns!

So, all I did was update. I tried to load a game and got the above. I tried to start a new game and got the above. Before I waste a bunch of time, I thought I’d post, in case there is a need to fix the fix. I’m too tired tonight to try reinstall. I thought it amusing though that one maple shrub brought down the whole game.

For instance when i lay out a bridge i never used before, or when i get a new train, or bus, etc…..

Anyway, if i want to crash the game on purpose, I go all over the map, zoom in on everything, look at every vehicle, place every type of road etc, etc, and sooner or later the game will shut down my computer.

In a normal game (large map) it happens once every 5-10 hours.

I can provide dxdiag if it’s necesary.

Path finding Error (Repeatedly) /forums/topic/path-finding-error-repeatedly/ Sun, 14 Sep 2014 17:40:54 +0000 /forums/topic/path-finding-error-repeatedly/ Continue reading ]]> I accidentally set a cargo stop on a route that couldn’t be reached. I didn’t notice until a ‘Error’ message came on a depot for Setting all the cars to the route (“Error: Unable to find station”).

I immediately found the section of road missing and replaced it.

I tried again, but got the same Error Message. I next deleted the route and made a new one using the same stops, then tried to set the Horse Wagons to it, again, error, can’t find any stops.

I reset the game and reloaded the save, same situation. Started a new game, same again, the Horse Wagon just won’t budge (Horse Carriages and Trains work, however). Here is an image, you can clearly see the 3 truck stops (one at each industry and one in the town of Filey), and the truck depot in the centre at the t junction.

[FIX] OpenGL Fix 32/64 bit (Nvidia driver error) /forums/topic/opengl-fix-3264-bit-nvidia-driver-error/ Sat, 06 Sep 2014 17:41:08 +0000 /forums/topic/opengl-fix-3264-bit-nvidia-driver-error/ Continue reading ]]> Hello Guys,

The first hour I played TF I got the OpenGL error, I used the old BF3 fix but I did something slightly different.

I got an old Nvidia 9600GT with the latest 3.40 driver, and I’m using Windows 8.1 64-bit.

Because I’m using Windows 8.1 64-bit I made a different “64 bit” key: Instead of using the “DWORD (32 bit)” key. I used the “QWORD”(64-bit)” key with exactly the same description as below. After that I played for 6 hours in a row without any crash, So I think it helps to use the right key for the corresponding system you’re using. (32-bit or 64-bit). I hope this helps you fix this error.

This seems to be an old fix used for BF3.
1.Simply go to your registry: Start –> Run –> Type in “Regedit”
2.Go to “HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers” and create a key of type “DWORD (32-bit)” or “QWORD (64-bit)” (depending on what system you’re using) and name “TdrDelay” with a value of 10 as Decimal value.
3.Reboot and play 🙂

In a nutshell it gives the GPU 10 seconds to recover/respond vs. 2 seconds (default).

View post on imgur.com

This works for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1

This basically alleviates the “ Display driver stopped responding and has recovered” issue and/or “Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.” you will only see in the EventViewer.

If you want to learn more about this setting: Timeout Detection & Recovery (TDR)

Check this links:

http://http.developer.nvidia.com/NsightVisualStudio/2.2/Documentation/UserGuide/HTML/Content/Timeout_Detection_Recovery.htm http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff570088(v=vs.85).aspx

TDR stands for Timeout Detection and Recovery. This is a feature of the Windows operating system which detects response problems from a graphics card, and recovers to a functional desktop by resetting the card. If the operating system does not receive a response from a graphics card within a certain amount of time (default is 2 seconds), the operating system resets the graphics card.

Before TDR existed, problems of this nature would have resulted in a system freeze and required a reboot of the operating system. If TDR is enabled and you see the TDR error message, “Display driver stopped responding and has recovered,” this means that the Windows operating system reset the display driver.
