ParticipantI think he just want to convert a lot of models from CiM to TF, which maded by fans.

ParticipantI’d still call that stealing. And second, you’d REALLY want the original file in order to convert, and fix problems that occur. Trust me, there’s been a few issues I’d have to deal with after a few attempts on conversion.

ParticipantWhy stealing? I have agreement from author, but still is simpler export model with this tool than exporting to .obj for example and to Train Fever format in second step. I’m programmer, not 3D graphic…

ParticipantBtw. Is tutorial or API of model config files somewhere?

ParticipantIf you have the original 3D files, it’s pretty much a drag-and-drop procedure. The converter tool will create the msh and msh.blob files for you, almost regardless of what input files you use.
It supports .obj, .3ds, .blend, .lwo, collada, and probably .fbx too..
I’m tinkering with a tutorial, but I need to iron out some issues I don’t understand yet.

ParticipantI have original .obj files from author, and I was converted them to msh and msh.blob. But I don’t know when textures are inbuild or must be external. And in config, there is much of things like grouping and i don’t know why I must use them or should remove them… :/

ParticipantStealing, stealing. In internet everything is free, that’s the core of Internet. Want some rights – don’t share model in internet, sell it somewhere.
BTW I bought a game in Steam because I respect developers, who revived genre of trasport games.

Participant
Does anyone know what this means? I’m unsure what I’m doing wrong.
I’ve got a MTL file in that directory
September 10, 2014 at 18:39 #7016olahaldor
ParticipantMay it be the folder and files are read only?
September 10, 2014 at 18:48 #7017Omich
ParticipantIn msh file you need to specify path to correct mtl file (relative to ../res/models/materials/) in material property.

ParticipantAh, didn’t know I have to edit the msh file. thanks dude!!

InactiveSpoorObjecten, carefully check all paths in scripts. And try to convert model again from your 3D format to .msh and .blob.msh.
