Hi, now I’am playing one game on hard (about 50 hours) and now I’am in 1940 and 10M profit per year)
1 – if you want a profitable bus or tram, you have to build a long route (intercity). Every bus can be profitable (even horses). One my route has 60 pc L’Obéissante and +300K per year.
City bus and tram may not profit, it is only train support (trains have passengers thanks to them)2 – IMO it should be single lines (train station to industrial, train station to residential etc.), but I used loops for more realism
3 – not too close, every stop takes few seconds. Not too far, walk may take minutes. I placed them as close to crossroads
4 – good urban transport is better than good place. But yes, it should be somewhere near residential and leisure
5 – every I used a two-way train circuit (5-10 stations) and urban bus/tram routes. Once I used 3 station route (in shape Y) and one train, it was very profitable, but I don’t like it.
mata.lanParticipantYes, something like project documentation. Design the whole track with many points, each can change position and altitude, all cost nothing (or few $ – project cost). After that I can buy it (like upgrade tool)
mata.lanParticipantnote: on screen 3 and 4 I also build horizontal road and then I build a horizontal train track on same place. “Horizontal” track is rising up the bridge and its definitely not horizontal.
It’s totally freaking me because I don’t know if the train track is horizontal or slope when I build “horizontal”. Has anybody same problem?
mata.lanParticipantIt’s no depending on zoom level. Try this: Build horizontal level wide street in many directions (like on scr 1), than demolish it and on level land build “horizontal” train track (scr 2). In some cases it offer to you build track on embankment (it rise).
In other case I found that track does not rise constantly but in arch (vertikal curve).
I tried many old and new games, hilly, flat, small, big… everyvere I found this.
mata.lanParticipantIt should looks like, but it’s same position. Look at the white spot – it shows end point and that is same like start point in 3 or 4, only the track is in the notch.
But yes – screenshot 5 is wrong. I follow contour line and I set horizontal building but the track is definitely not horizontal.mata.lanParticipantThanks, thats all I wanna know.
mata.lanParticipantBridges and tunnels should be most expensive. In the game its normal build very long and high bridges in no reason.
