I have upgraded to Ubuntu 14.10, got rid of hard-drive encryption, and now everything is working great again.

I don’t think Train Fever recognizes this as a crash.  It just seems to suck up all the computer resources into disk activity – the drive is going like mad – I waited truly 10 minutes and it would not stop. Initially for the first 5 minutes enough resources are available for split second screen updates every 30s or so (mouse cursor moving, vehicles advancing a fraction of a millimeter).

Does this work?  (First time using DropBox)

Mike2 crashes about 10s after loading (Mike2 was created before the last 2 builds),  Mike3 crashes a minute or 2 after loading.  I suspect this is at the auto save game (Mike3 is saved after I loaded the 1852 game and saved before the 1853 autosave).

Actually I do have continuing problems – at the the 1852 game same, the game crashed after making the save – the hard drive is going like crazy even if left for 5 minutes.  I cut the power, rebooted, and could load autosave 1852, but then it crashed, I’m assuming at the 1853 autosave time (but without saving).

Yeah, Awesome job Mikael!  I thought I had already blacklisted Nouveau.  Now I can start new games, but I still can’t load my old games – I saw on another thread that this may be a separate problem that you are aware of – so I’ll just wait for the next update and work on some new cities.  Really a wonderful game, and I’m just amazed by your support!

I have been getting the same problem since this update and I’m using Ubuntu Linux 64bit on a core2 duo 2GB with Geforce GT640 2GB.  Mostly I can’t even load my old save games – hangs after bar gets to 100%, and crashes right after making new map if choose new game.

I am having a similar problem on my Linux system, was working fine until this latest build, now it just hangs after the load game bar comes to 100%, or if I create a new world, it hangs just after the world is displayed.

I can’t get Train Fever to start either (doesn’t start, and no error messages – hard drive works for 3 seconds after clickin).  Curiously, I only have the steam logo for the train fever tile on my desktop – does this suggest it wasn’t downloaded properly?

    This is my setup:

    Ubuntu 14.04 LTS 32 bit
    Intel Core 2 Duo CPU E4600 @ 2.4GHz
GeForce GT640 using 340.32 driver (latest)
