First train is out and working. I’ve connected North Las Vegas (which already has well prospering bus connections within the 5-town ring) with Berkley. Both towns got a shuttle line connecting Train Stations to residential/commercial areas. (3 buses each – around 2 min turnover).
Train line total cost – around 900K (the train alone was 470K). It’s still bringing some losses, but I’m certain that it will start paying for itself properly within next 2-3 years. (Considering doubling up with extra tracks and another train).
Losses on one of the bus routes are a result of vehicle replacements. Has to be done.
Also repaid another 500K to the bank.

ThrillogParticipantThe year is 1870.
I closed the ring of bus connections with 5 towns. I had to build a road from Feemont to Railegh, which cost me around 250K (ouch).
Also, repaid 500K of my initial loan (I’m going to try complete the Transport Shark achievement on Hard difficulty).
All lines bringing profit. Already replaced all vehicles on 2 lines due (things get old quickly).
I really want my first train to leave the depot, but I have no idea which towns I should connect. Decisions, decisions…

ThrillogParticipantImputing Custom Line Names: upon clicking on the “Rename” icon you can change the name of the line you’re interested in. Why can’t the “Line X” text disappear (or any other one for that matter) upon hitting Backspace once, like in word or notepad? It looks like it’s selected? Instead we need to hit backspace until every letter is deleted. It’s a small fix, surely. And it’s really annoying if you have to do it a good few dozen of times during one game.
ThrillogParticipantThat’s a great idea!
Just as isidoro said: Love to take my new train “for a spin” the first time round.
