You have to justify trains by the need of capacity.

Doubling the number of passengers isn´t enough.

You need a lot more and you can have civs wandering without simualting them exactly.

The game economy is just not suited for trains, in a game called Train Fever.

I believe that the whole game economy (and citizens management) should be reconsidered and rebalanced to keep the players interested.

Yes, that´s it and I want to add my full agreement to your posting.

Cancel citizen´s simulation, build ressources for more goods, passengers and a bigger map.

I’m not really bothered by the low number of peons as long as I make a profit and can build cool rail systems.

    You didn´t get the point.

Small maps, rythmn mechanic and small number of passengers – they all work against trains. I also want to make profit, but I want an interesting game either. To balance trains better against buses and trams you need a bigger map and many more passengers. Then you can propably establish the rythmn mechanic and make a game of it.

    People are just too impatient.

No, I´m convinced that the whole concept of the game is bad.

You have created a game called Train Fever and a world that isn´t made for trains.

A good transport simulation consists of so many parts, that you can´t simulate everything.

At least you loose control over many mechanics.

10000 people to transport in the whole world of the game ?

I will laugh the next ten years about that fact and play the free Simutrans again, where I can find so many people at a single station. This is a job for a train in the game, where it isn´t easy to build the right proportions.

People also have targets there, whithout simulating citizens and there it leads to building networks and I have to coordinate my tracks and lanes, will choose the best vehicles and doesn´t fight against the bugs of city growth and silly game mechanics.

If I could see a good approach that convinced me, I had a lot of patience, but I only see the necessity to build the whole game new, so I will play the better game.

Personally I think people who want to stop playing a game should just stop playing the game. Not write some letter to the Devs.

Why shouldn´t I write about what I think to be the great mistake of the game ?

I gave the advice to cancel simulation of citizens, that seems important to me.

I would have been lucky, if I could  have read such textes before buying the game. The only one, who has no interest in people writing are the developers and publishers, who want to sell their bad game.

But all in all I think it’s normal to lose interest in a game within couple of months.

Do you know how long people play games like A-Train. OTTD and Simutrans ?

I have much experience with Simutrans and there every game is new and fun. No simulation of citizens means you have plenty of ressources and there especially the possibilities to configure the game and the whole economy leads to much long term fun.

But Train Fevers time is limited and I think many people play longer than the game deserves beause they want the game to make fun and try.  I did it too for too long. The game´s doomed and they have to make everything new.

That is also the part in these games what I like the most, but in train fever I feel it pointless. What for? The train traffic is so low, that a simple junction can handle it in most cases, to to mention that most of the trains are half empty.

Yes, can´t better say that. The game needs more space, more passengers and definitely no simulation of citizens.

    That´s the games death.

Greetings from the german Simutrans forum.

If hard is too hard for you then don’t play on hard.

Hard mode isn´t hard. I have several hundred millions after  short time.

And I can´t hear anymore that you have to use trains.

A keyfeature of a transport simulation game should be the question which vehicle works best at a given job.

Why should I run a train to the town in the neighborhood ?

Small map – too little passengers – this game isn´t made for trains.

The whole concept is so stupid and now everyone´s complaining that using buses and trams to connect towns is cheating, because they can´t accept that the whole game doesn´t make sense.
