“And why does the game keeps changing a large country road to a large street and starts building houses next to it.”

I have observed that building railroad tracks over the roads helps to prevent this issue.

Just build a small section of rail track over the road, close to the cities, and they will not be able to convert the road to street any more (they can convert sections that are close to the city, but they can’t jump a rail track while converting roads). If the city is spreading out, you have to build tracks on every place they can connect to your country road (if the rail track is surpassed by the city they can convert the road again).

For me it’s working. Someone else has tried it?

    Hi

I tried to reproduce it but nothing…

If you take a look at the image, the last thing I did was the rail going out the station.
I have 2 savegames: One is 35 min before the bug, and the other is just after it.

If you want the savegames they are 35Mb each.

¿How many Mb allows the email of your web?

Put signals only on the way out of the stations. This way a train will never move to the next station until the previous train has done the same. Doing this you have a limit of trains that can run on the line, but they will keep distance between them. Using this set up on a line between 5 cities with 7 trains is working pretty well, and with 15m of benefits.

You can also use this configuration only at some points of the line, for example only between the more crowded stations, so the bigger loading times doesn’t make that all the trains get together. But be carefull because you can make a bottleneck.

” your lines must connect strategic points”

Also, if you are going to build a freight station, do it near the industrial zone so the goods don´t need to walk a long way to their destination.

Iron and coal mines are not using your line probably because they can´t reach the station (no road conection).
