Oh I know. Just working around bugs seems to be half of the “gameplay” here. Let’s not even discuss trying to upgrade rail or especially upgrading a train station.

I solved this by making more stations and many of them for large distribution centers. The smaller stations can hold two lines better than the larger stations. You can see where I have two lines on the two docks. As I expand I’ll replace the large centers with smaller ones so they can handle two lines each. It doesn’t matter where you put the lines as the industry will deliver to each station based on lines. In this case I’m moving goods to 5 different cities.

Well choosing the exact track introduces new problems. While it does allow two trains on two platforms it also assigns goods to each line. In this case it’s pointless having two tracks serving a large distribution center for example. I would need twice the trains to get the goods to the end point with efficiency.

Fixed by oddly enough maxing everything out. I hadn’t set shadows etc. to high thinking there would be additional issues. Performance is good maxed out. It’s crashed once in 4 hours or so which is a huge difference between every 10-15 minutes.

Here’s what I’m trying to do.. Why is that train waiting instead of going into the lower platform?

All this does it make it wait 10 seconds to drop to the desktop rather than 2. It’s going to crash either way.

FYI: The recent patch didn’t change this. Still does the same thing.

Have you figured out a single track on multiple platforms? If you can understand my ASCII drawing 🙂 All trains want to use the top platform. I have 1 way lights positioned at both the entrance and exit of each platform so the top should be red when occupied / bottom green. Except the other train reports it’s waiting for a rail even though the bottom rail / platform are empty. I want to employ a large loop system using only two major rail lines. Though both platforms will only be used for a fraction of the time I want the train ready to accept goods as the other one departs.

Well heres the deal and it really depends on how you play games. First off this game is not complete. I feel there is a strong inclination to rely on modders who aren’t getting paid. Build a game and then let modders improve upon it but they’re not there to BUILD the game right?

It’s buggy and it crashes. I save after I do every task. Small things are very hard to accomplish and have knock on effects that can be frustrating. i.e. if you want to upgrade a train you have to make a new train first and assign it the line. If you don’t then the production will literally be cut in half and in some cases cease for several months. If you have many things relying on this such as goods going to towns it can effect everything from goods trucks to the busses providing internal traffic to outbound people movers.

Upgrading train lines will also have this effect. If you bulldoze a section of rail to install faster rail the production can stop all together because the line is broke.

This can be summed up in basic functionality: save games. No way to delete locally, no way to select from a menu a write over, just VERY basic stuff. Also there aren’t any instructions! They got $300,000 from a kickstarter… Spend $2500 and hire a writer for crying out loud. I bet if they posted an offer for someone on this forum to write a comprehensive manual for $2500 they would have many many takers.

With that said I don’t buy EA games because they charge twice as much for similarly incomplete products except they offer fixes in the form of DRM. You know how this goes.

Having the same issue with a single massive loop going into 2 train platforms. Both trains want to use the same platform regardless of how I have the lights set up. I have them one-way directional through the loop. Nothing like TTDX.
