Most of the time I use road lines for freight. When I create a new freight line, I always start with load if available. As soon as the production has increased and the first trucks get fully loaded, I switch to full load. Then from time to time I check whether there are freight items waiting for trucks or trucks waiting to get loaded and change the number of trucks on that line accordingly.

I guess you could do a similar thing with trains. Just make sure they don’t have too many cars so the waiting time is not too long when waiting for full load.

    @mackintosh

Often when I encountered such a problem the reason was that the city was already fully supplied with goods by other lines. You can check on the details tab of the city window how many goods items it wants.

But the travel time depends on the vehicle. You could use different vehicles with different speed and acceleration capabilities on the same line.

…as I write this I’m asking myself what that means regarding frequency.

    Another thought on this:

If the frequency of a line is 1/5 min, that means the max. waiting time for a potential passenger or freight item is 5 min.

So when I add a vehicle to the line the max. waiting time decreases and so does the everage travel time.

I haven’t encountered such massive lags so far, only very short ones after zooming.

If you’d like to know whether the game will be improved I recommend to read the  post release plans the devs have published on the Steam shop site.

Regarding mods: Check out train-fever.net, you can find some mods there already.

AFAIK you can’t move it. You have to destroy it and build a new one.

I have to agree with Morat, I’ve encountered all these issues except for the double track snapping thing. Sometimes when connecting two track endings doesn’t work by dragging from ending A to B, dragging from B to A works.

I share the opinion that there is a a lot of potential for improvements. But I’m not just disappointed, I’m also happy that there is a game that could become the OpenTTD successor for me.

So dear Developers: Thanks for this game, don’t stop working on it!

The things I’d like to see fixed first are:

    • Automatic vehicle replacement when a vehicle is too old OR when the type of vehicle is outdated.
    • Signals and flexible pathfinding to allow multiple trains on tracks and in stations

    Another one:

When scrolling by moving the mouse cursor to screen edges is activated, scrolling doesn’t work where a window or toolbar touches the screen edge.
