    In that case, except for the texturing part and creating bogeys, i’ll be having 20+ trains ready for the last finishes touches!

    Good to have you in this topic Mikael, cause i have one question πŸ™‚

    “A train is separated into different meshes”

    Am I correct that this means you export a full train from your 3d software to OBJ?
    If this is correct, how does the engine know which part is the wheels / bogey / body? Do you name each group of parts a certain name.

    Or do you separate wheels/bogey/body and export them as multiple OBJ files?

    So the model i showed yesterday was actually a refurbish 3dprintable model.

    Today i started all over (well, i used the basic frame i created for the 3d printable model) and actually started designing for TF instead of 3Dprinting πŸ™‚

    I’m not there yet, but it’s a start πŸ™‚

    yup, same for animations.
    I model trains for 3D printing, so no experience in animating the doors n stuff.. yet πŸ™‚

    It looks good from a distance, but the textures aren’t high-def πŸ™
    Will need to figure out how to make good textures

    Jm764, I’ll be creating dutch trains πŸ™‚

    A few pictures of the trains when they got 3D printed.
    So these current models cannot be used for TrainFever, this is just to show that I will be capable of creating them for that purpose.

     

    Ok, last picture, this is how the trains look before I “texture” them.
    For TrainFever I will have to make lower polygon models and higher quality textures πŸ™‚

    I’m not going to help you with American stuff, but I will be modding for this game πŸ˜‰

    All these models are actually made for 3D printing, but will convert them and add high resolution textures πŸ™‚
