I highly suggest you take a look at a few of the Let’s Plays from the Beta and the guides on the forum and Steam. You don’t have to read it all – just skip around a little and you should grasp it all pretty quickly.

IIRC A few betas mentioned wanting to do a proper intro/tutorial video series for new players.

And the last episode of my Beta series is up.

Unfortunately a sudden internet outage put a very sudden end to the evening. Long before I had planned to end with a completely silly railway finale. I tried to stitch up the footage as best as I could – annotations where relevant.

I’ll be back to Train Fever after a few days of rest – Might play some city builders in the meantime.

There’s no unload command – The train will simply drop off the goods at each station as they are demanded. Everything has a specific destination in mind when you pick it up.

Ohh – My bad. Indeed they are. I’m sitting too far from the screen to notice the subtle high speed rail in the middle. Very clever (and just like they do in real life around here)

One obvious issue with your station, Spoor. Station platform tracks are always the old, slow kind. Your TGV would be able to keep its speed if you made a pass track outside of the station using high speed rails.

    …start using Gravatar 😛

Follow the guide in the link I provided in my previous post. Set up an avatar and it will appear here.

The forum uses the Gravatar system – In theory it lets you keep the same avatar across several websites without having to do a thing. In practice however it is a bit glitchy.

Speaking of adding translations – Will you leave the localization string files open for anyone to do a local translation? Would certainly let the fans help translate the game into… well any language really. 🙂

On the other hand, anyone who uses a keyboard for writing is going to hate it with a passion as it closes everything whenever they’re trying to delete text from a label. 😛

Don’t see why you’d want a German box personally – It’s all Steam either way.

Uh… English physical release? News to me – I thought they only did a German one.

It was supposed to be the case but wasn’t implemented at the time. 🙂

I imagine the reviews will happen around release day – The devs have been churning out beta patches these past weeks with a lot of important improvements and changes.

@Ultramark: Considering how I’d spent entire weekends playing it on LAN with brothers and friends, I’d argue that it was a user error, not a software error that caused your particular issues back in teh day 😉

    That’s real neat. 🙂
