October 29, 2014 at 14:46 #12701trainzeiroParticipantWrong? Why wrong?
October 29, 2014 at 15:10 #12702FX2KParticipantYou guys sound like Apple “You’re holding it wrong”
😀 They soon realised that wouldn’t cut it though, Apple that is.
October 29, 2014 at 15:11 #12703trainzeiroParticipantUnderstand zero.
October 29, 2014 at 15:17 #12704FX2KParticipantOctober 29, 2014 at 15:22 #12705trainzeiroParticipantHum, I see no relationship between what I said and that link.
October 29, 2014 at 15:23 #12706trainzeiroParticipantProbably you think that’s enough to say: “you are wrong” … withou an explanation.
October 29, 2014 at 15:36 #12707FX2KParticipantWell, I can’t speak for crossmr who used that reference, I just helped explain it to you, although I don’t see it being directed as a reply to something you said directly, more so a generalisation.
Who are “against” this game should read and understand the goal of this game. when I said read, try to read the papers shoewed here: http://www.train-fever.com/about/ .
As for me, I am not against the game, so your message is in my opinion not directed to me, but I will say this…
The problems with the game are not all related to the “goal” of the game.- This reply was modified 9 years, 6 months ago by FX2K.
October 29, 2014 at 16:08 #12709trainzeiroParticipantGot it !
October 29, 2014 at 16:42 #12710crossmrParticipantYes, quite simply put you don’t blame the end user for misunderstanding it. It’s the developer’s job to make sure the customer understands it or it meets their expectations. Not the other way around. When people start claiming that the customer needs to adjust their expectations to meet that of the developers, that’s fanboism. The world doesn’t work that way. You’ll grow out of it. Probably.
October 29, 2014 at 18:04 #12714Person012345ParticipantThat’s also the kind of thinking that leads peanut packets to contain the warning “may contain nuts” and chainsaw manufacturers to label their products with “do not attempt to stop chainsaw with hands or genitals”.
October 29, 2014 at 21:09 #12722RustyrocketsParticipantI totally agree with tattoo. I remember before the launch , we were discussing various things we would like as DLC planes ,ships and so much more . Now we are debating if they will even fix the game atleast .
The game becomes pretty boring after a while , no replaybility because there is no depth in simulation or economy of the game and lack of enthusiasm in devs to fix that .
As much as i was excited about this game , and how it will revive our beloved genre , it seems like they just put the nail in the coffin for this genre .
Don;t get me wrong , i still love the game very much (not because of what it is , but what it could have been )and check the news feed everyday and get disappointed to see nothing new has been said and done .
October 29, 2014 at 23:39 #12727t-strikeParticipantI’m affraid i have to agree with Tattoo and Rustyrockets.
Being said that i’ve been waiting and wanting this game for over 2 years, i haven’t played this game for weeks now. The performance isn’t even bothering me that much, and they improved that quite a bit in the last build. But the game is full of annoying bugs and just isn’t compelling to play. I posted a mayor list of things to change and add, but so far none of the requests have been added.
I just reloaded a save game from my last play, looked around and saw what made me put the game away. I have a traffic jam between 4 cities! One city to the next. And guess where my buses and trucks are… Right, in the middle.
The handling of traffic is very poor. Why does EVERY car stop at EVERY junction? Even when there are no other cars or people at that crossing. Because of that, traffic just stops the game, both in-game and in real life. So i just quit the game again.
It feels pointless trying to build great networks when the game fucks it up. One of the things i like best in OpenTTD, is the constant attraction to improve tracks. As the amount of trains on a track increase, you hit new bottlenecks all the time. You’re constantly trying to improve and remove the bottlenecks to improve the ‘train flow’, and that makes the game fun. New chalenges all the time.
Unfortunately, Train Fever works the other way around: new annoying bugs all the time. I hoped for the developers to fix these bugs, but the game is now out for almost 2 months and it seems to me that not one of the annoying bugs/issues i’ve found is being fixed. I repeatedly check their website to see if there’s a new version available, but no, that’s not the case. For me that’s very, very disapointing.
I had great hopes for this game, but until now the only part they lived up to was the nice graphics. But i don’t play for the graphics, i play for the gameplay. Heck, i still love OpenTTD and i can spend weeks playing a single map, and that game has 2D graphics from 1994! I was hoping to recommend this game to my friends and family, but why would i if i’m not even enjoying it myself?
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE developpers, make this game as it is supposed to be. You know what we want and you know what the issues are, it’s all over these forums. Fix those annoying buys/issues, let us try to have fun. Because i KNOW this game can be good if you put some decent work in it, and i KNOW i can love this game as it is as it was intended to be. Make this game the OpenTTD-killer we’re all hoping it should be. And please start changing it soon, because i’m affraid people, including me, are losing interest in a fast pace.
And if you can’t do it all by yourself, please include the fan-scene. I know there’re a lot of enthousiastic people around that are willing to help. OpenTTD is all fan-based and is now one of the best games to play. It’s not a shame to invite members from outside your team, and i think most people will help you for free. Make this game for the scene, with the scene, and you’ll get the greatest game ever, that everyone will love.

October 31, 2014 at 01:33 #12769Kiwi-NZParticipantI love this game and it is quit simple if you have understood the game mechanics based on speed and time.
For a “beginner” without a proper Tutorial it is really difficult to play. There are just 2 Problems at the moment with this game.
1)
Bus-lane / destination-object, reaching by car (Bug)
2)
Position of the Tram-lane on “big roads” (4-Lane). It has to be centre as in reality to avoid the traffic-jam.October 31, 2014 at 01:36 #12770crossmrParticipantThere are just 2 Problems at the moment with this game.
That’s the understatement of the century.
