The train set only appears with normal maps as diffuse, or it appears as blue, as most would say. Working on fix!
PaTrondParticipant@olahaldor also did animation on the doors! What I did was just feeding him assets and textures.
Download link will be on the front page when my comment is moderated there.
So for now: Happy 50th anniversary, Shinkansen 0 Series!

PaTrondParticipantFinally! I’ll give a huge, huge thanks to @olahaldor for converting it into the game, scripting, icons, feedback and keeping me from going banana! =D
The textures aren’t where I really want them to be. But I’m still unbelievably happy for what we have managed to do since Sunday afternoon, next to work and studies! I consider this an alpha, which I’ll enhance as I have time. (Just bought the Quixel Suite – which is awesome! – for my studies.)
Modelling vehicles is, believe it or not, relatively new for me. I’m more experienced with flora, architecture and characters, so it has been a great experience doing something different like this! Still, this has been like one long exam and now I’ll take some time off from the computer!
Cheers all!
PaTrondParticipant^ That doesn’t mean 3DS Max’ meters are the same at export.
PaTrondParticipantGot that done. Now it’s just crashing the game when I set it to a line, without any informative error message…
No, I’m only going to do the Sinkansen 0 Series. First I’m going to release it as an alpha, then I’m going to polish the textures, giving them ambient occlusion, proper specular, normals and so on. After that I’ll be back on this one:

PaTrondParticipantI just facepalmed..! Thanks! I blamed the stress! xD
PaTrondParticipantDoes anyone happen to know how the export scale setup should be? I created my models in 1:1 in centimeters in 3DS Max, and it seems to be way off in the Model Viewer… Haven’t got to in-game testing yet, but should very soon.
PaTrondParticipantBecoming a few long nights now, but I might have it done by tomorrow evening. Modelling is done, and so is unwrapping. Now I’m just putting the modules for the four different cars together.

That train would be BM 66. The one I’m working on now is BM 88.
Ola Haldor: You should feel free to play with the UV’s when I’m done with it. 🙂 Shout out if you need any help with “Signatur”. Was thinking about making that one myself.
Adrian: Hehe, yes, “Superlines” are expensive, but at least they don’t lose value.
What goes for what I’m going to make of mods, I’m not really quite sure. As I’m a game design student, I’ll try as best as I can to put a Norwegian train here and there one the timeline from 1850 to 2000’s. Being a student and having a part time job also means I have my duties to do. Right now I’m doing the BM 88 as a part of my studies.

I was planning on making the EL 17, but only got as far as setting up reference images in my 3D program before I began on the one in the image below.
Anyway. Was wondering about making EL 11 and B3 or teak coaches next. Maybe even “Dovregubben” – or NSB Type 49, as it’s the first in the series of.
Anyone able to guess which train this is, without looking on the German Train-Fever.net forums?

PaTrondParticipantI normally think about what direction I want the train to go in at one side or another, just like road systems. Then I think about whre I want the train to stop, so that it does not block other train in the intersaction, or so that it will wait for another train to pass. If the section after a light is occupied, the other train will stop and wait until the coming section is free.
Note that having too many signals may allow trains to get very close to each other – meaning that the second train might catch up with the first. so I often prefer having one having to wait at the station until the previous train has arrived at the next station, or is very close to. This spreads the trains more out, without having to make them wait for full load, which will make passenger tired and not use the line.
Singal + direction of light: [<s] or [s>]
Rails: —
Intersection: \ or /
[s>]—————[s>]-
—-/—-[<s]—————[<s]–\—-[single track station, etc.]
Signal in this example has “one way” toggled on (click on the signal, toggle “one way” on):
——————————————-[s>]— Train will go <-
–[<s]——————————————– Train will go ->
It’s usually smart to make a signal with one way toggled on just after the intersection, on each end. Explained: I want the train to go on the right side. To do that, I toggle “one way” on, at the first signal pointing towards the train on the RIGHT track, AFTER the intersection.
Hope this helps. 🙂
