Medopu, the new train not always means better. How the frequency has changed after you replaced the engine?

Game has a flaw, it show only minutes (7 minutes) but not exact number like 7:35. If you are on the edge with delivery time, you could see 10 minutes. Then you replace the engine for a new  type, but real frequency changes from 10:02 to 10:58, game still shows 10 minutes, but  those 56 extra seconds lead to overcome the 20 minute limit, and disable production. Very dissapointing.

Medopu, how many train your line has?

is there any other line to the industry ?

Described issue happen in described situation, that means one mine and one factory served by one train. Pretty common situation, and most profitable. Well if you dont touch it…. .

Suggestion No.1 would be amassing for planned automatic vehicles retrofit. Vehicle comes to depo, script  creates a new instance of it then copy load and line variables, then release new and nill old. Easy to program, debug and nice to watch. Looking forward.

This bugs me too. I wish you add this little function (writen in lua)

It opens the new window only for the first new vehicle in the depo.
it is connected to the Buy button insted of the current one.

    —————————————————

    function ComfortOpenWindow ()

    for i,car in oCurrentDepot do

    if car.age = 0 then return end

    end

OpenWindow () — this function opens window right now

    end

Little step for programmer but huge leap for playerkind.

Add a loading option “Pass” for little pavement stations.  Along “Full Load”  or “Load and go” we have “Pass”, the vehicle go toward the station but doesnt stop. It creates an effective waypoint.  Station price is about  same as train waypoint. Very useable for city highway roundabouts. Cargo tracks could use it too.

When planing your routes, one think you need to keep on your mind. Agents/sims goes from home (green) to some other color district, then back to home. Their route always start in green, their route always ends in some other color. The green district has highest concentration of travel hungry people.

    Some consequences:

Single ring line around the city – agent travels from home to the destination by bus, but there is no way back. So he walks.

Double ring line(clocwise-anticlockwise) around the city – agent could travel back and fort by bus. If the an agent would use the big cicrle line line from green to red like :green-green-green-blue-blue-red he probably go by walk/car cose so many stops are slow.

Inner city transport should be considered as a feeder to your trains. If you want to take care about all people who go from home-green to the local shop-red you would loose money.

The frequency stuff sounds obvious written but, …

Example to count:lets have an ideal cargo line. Forest next to city and saw far-away. We have two stations, one train. Station in the city is right to the blue district so it takes 1 minute to the customer.  Logs travels 1 minute from forest to station. What is the biggest frequency (most distant saw possible) you could have to be line active ? (assume time limit 20minutes)

I think its 38minutes. Which allows me to use a tank engine with 25 wagons 😮Am I right?

@Kiwi-NZ interesting. I did my tests a while ago. It worked as said. Whatever, agents continue the route after the time limit is better for me. Now I would not consider train waiting for free path as money loss. Jupiiii.

“because the system will identify the destination as inaccessible.” — Why did I recommend let the train make one full round ? Becouse you establlish the accesibily of the destination.  When you remove the bus one, possibly faster, then agents try to find another way. The another must exist, yes. Well I assume that you are replacing a bus line for train then strart and destions of both routes are in the same cyties.

    1. make train line one full run, all stations 2. use line manager and send all buses to depo at one click 3. onece the buses are in depo, asap delete the old bus line as well.  If the line doesnt exist then people go home immediately, so they come sooner to the train station. If you keep buss line on place they stay here waiting for 20 minutes in hope that something come.

People should re-route thi way quite quickly.

Ah. I see. Too fast reading. Well then, … vehicle pass stops — > no it doesnt.

@Tossi  “PS: Maybe this is how point 4 should be worded properly:  Frequency is not how often a vehicle will pass stops. ?” Well it is. Get stop watch and piece of paper. Stand on any point of a line. When you see a vehicle from your line, write down current time. The table you get would look like the Fulenza’s table, the right column. You will have a list of time rocords, any record has same amount of time from previous record. The diference is the same for all the records. The diference is the frequency.

    Nice discussion BTW :-]

Now deaar devs should put more numbers on the line window. Like :

freq, lengt of one round in seconds, lenght of one round in km, line capacity.

Line capacity is imporatant for replacement. You can get shorter/longer freq but it still doesnt tell you the amount of cargo delivered.

    1. I think its 24 minutes in the first. Month is a minute. 24 month are 2 years. In case of one vehicle on the line with 2 stops. You need each payment at the station in particular year. If you make it longer, then you financial ledger would be very jumpy. Becouse it would happen the in one financial year you dont get any income. Just imagine waves like one year minus milion next year plus 2 milions. If you make it shorter it would not be synced.

    2. The time limit (20/24 whatever it is) is considered for farest possible route.

Lets have an example of algorithm for leisure route :

Let say the agent is home (the green) he looks for leisure (yellow). There are 7 leisure areas on the small map. 3 of them are reachable in time limit. 1 of them has best environment parameters. So the route is started for a leisure which is in reach of the time limit (and has best value?). It takes bus-train-bus2. Due to the traffic jam first buss was late 3 minutes. Train was waiting in taffic lights for next minute. When the agent come to the bus2 station he has only 5 minute left but rest of the rout takes 7minutes so he is teleported home (green). Alhou he paid for first bus and train, he dont reach destination.

In case he made it to leisure. He would also travel back.

Intersting question would be – for the city grow bonus – does it count started travels or finished travels?
