Someone needs to sticky a suggestion post so we don’t end up with millions of them. That someone should be a member who actively visits the forums on a daily basis so that they can maintain the post.
A lot of these suggestions have already been mentioned in this thread here: Suggestions/Fixes Megathread. Unfortunately, the OP of that thread hasn’t updated it for a while so the post has died off. It really needed to be stickied so everyone could see it and post to it. Also, it must be maintained by a dedicated person who won’t give up.
Anyone?

LBParticipantWell, Mouse with Wheel is clearly listed under the minimum requirements…
LBParticipantMain connection wouldn’t be an issue if there were more upgrade options that actually worked. Example: Upgrade a level crossing to an underpass or bridge without having to delete and rebuild the road. Dragging road over rail; this would stop the need to bulldoze a bit of road to place an underpass or bridge. Tagging a road as main connection if and ONLY if it was the ONLY route to and from a built location. Not the fastest, not the best, but the ONLY route to a built location. Not a location that has nothing, but a location that has at least one building. If you bulldoze that building, remove the main connection tag. I understand the concept; OTTD used a similar feature where a town wouldn’t let you bulldoze certain things. It happens in reality; governments and transport organisations can’t just build roads and rail wherever they please. It just needs the above adjustments and it’ll actually be a good feature.
LBParticipantThe developers aren’t going to fix the problem faster if you yell at them more. In fact, the more you yell at them, the more likely they are to want to abandon the game altogether. If you made a mistake, would you feel like fixing it if everyone was screaming at you? Or would you just give up and walk away and free yourself from all the stress that being yelled at causes? If you know that you’ve made a mistake, do you like being reminded of it every few minutes or would you prefer to be left alone so you can fix it?
The message has been made clear enough. They will work on it if they can and when they can, you can’t ask for more. If you have ideas on how to improve it; great, let’s hear it. Otherwise, shouting about how it’s “broken” is not helping anyone, least of all yourselves.
Remember: The developers are humans, just like you; they all respond to criticism the same way that you do.
LBParticipantI would actually love a game that is like train fever but as detailed as train simulator. Being able to decouple wagons, move the loco to a turntable or balloon loop and reattach at the other end of the wagons would be an awesome feature. Cargo trains that drop off full wagons and pick up empty wagons to take back to the industry where they drop off the empty wagons and pick up full ones. You would only need to specify which wagons get picked up/dropped off and the assigned loco(s) would work out the rest. It would make large rail yards necessary and improve the visual aspect of your rail network. Being able to leave wagons in the yards that wait for filling or being picked up by a different loco.
Train flipping = bad, Train reversing = good
December 31, 2014 at 03:17 in reply to: Suggestion: Narrow gauge tracks that you can link to tram tracks. #15431LBParticipant“Light Rail”, “Tramway” or “Streetcar” are terms for basically the same thing. It depends on which country you come from as to which term is used. Some cities only have this system on their city streets while others have them only on tracks like normal rail while others have a mix of both. Some use narrow gauge, others use standard and some even use broad gauge. Whichever method is used, it is all the same kind of system.
Country roads with tram tracks and bus lanes is not a solution as cars/buses/trucks can still drive on them.
December 31, 2014 at 01:11 in reply to: Suggestion: Narrow gauge tracks that you can link to tram tracks. #15425LBParticipantI’d like to be able to lay tram tracks in the same way as rail by laying a single track at a time which could snap to road lanes or be placed off road entirely. Also, allow snapping to the centre lanes or the middle of the road for narrow streets. I’d like to see switches and junctions etc how rail has them and not just double tram tracks everywhere. Also, where are the catenaries?
And I’d rather see standard gauge tram tracks, maybe there could be a choice? There’s a difference between high speed, electric and normal rail, so why not add different gauges to the game? The city I live in actually uses broad gauge for it’s suburban rail network and standard gauge for the trams.
LBParticipantYeah, it really needs to be like Windows normal text editing which includes copy/cut and paste, being able to insert words by moving the cursor, highlighting all text by holding shift and home/end or shift and cursor key, etc…

LBParticipantI totally agree with Pollux. The largest map only covers the area of a small metropolis which is what the small size should be. Large should have four or more “urban centres” that can be connected by regional trains while the “towns” (suburbs) within the centres themselves should be connected with commuter trains. There should also be one or more city centres which could be considered as the central business district of the Urban centre. There should be more of an emphasis between towns and suburbs, where suburbs will grow faster than towns, or towns that are close to the urban centre will eventually convert to suburbs and become part of the greater metropolitan area of that centre. Maybe have a maximum distance from urban centre where any town outside of that range will always be just a town and never convert to a suburb. Also, high rise buildings begin in the centre and slowly spread outwards, maybe never reaching the outer suburbs. You know, like actual cities.
They really need to optimise the game before this can happen. The current large map needs to be able to perform with thousands of vehicles like the the current smallest map does with few vehicles. Most people here have more than one CPU core, let’s use as many cores as possible, that would be a good starting point.
LBParticipantI think it only works with 64 bit operating system
LBParticipantYes please! Also add driving on the left as an option for road vehicles! Just over 1/3 of the world drives on the left side of the road so it wouldn’t be a wasted feature.
