+1 from me too. Long trains take far too long to load.

The spacing for Trains is off by miles, it just doesn’t work. I’ve tried with signals etc, but instead resort to not having trains with multiple stops. They just relay.

However, once waypoints are in, Trains will be at least a little more realistic.

I agree with the OP that something needs to be done with spacing. That can either be timetables or stop durations, OR the devs can work on the code for train spacing so they don’t play follow the leader.

We don’t really have the tools available in-game to create optimal, and realistic rail networks.

I hope it’s not a one off achievement. That’s not how achievements work, as you’ll never be able to get 100%. I’ll be a little upset if I see 39/40 achievement progress and nothing I can do to max it.

Going to quote myself from another thread.

“This needs to happen very soon. It’s a real chore replacing vehicles, and stops the game from being enjoyable once the chains of messages start appearing from 1865 onwards.
I find it tough to keep going once the replacements start, as it really is becoming monotonous.”

Here’s a few of my larger cities from my first ever map (Large). It needs some serious work done with inner-city transport as I’ve learned a few things on my second map.

I also agree time moves too quickly, but for different reasons than the OP.

I don’t mind that routes take X months, what I don’t like is the speed at which you’re in 2015, it’s far too fast. I would like a modifier so that the game calendar runs at around 50-75% of it’s current slowest.

Even with the small amount of trains, and even smaller road amount of road vehicles, I feel rushed in to upgrading to newer models. I would like to enjoy each era for a much longer time (at least double). Now, when DLC and Mods become more common, it will feel even worse. You’ll be passing decades so quickly that you don’t get to enjoy the transition of the era to the modern vehicles of the time.

I would also like all calculation to remain the same, as this would have little effect on a slower time progression. It would certainly not make it easier, if you’re going to gain money, yes you gain twice as much in a game year if running at half the speed, BUT you still play for the same length of real time as you would normally. With the same token, you’d lose double the money if you’d made a mistake.
