medopuParticipant
wefer, I had crashes every two years. But then i started to save every 5 or 6 months and before&after doing anything major with infrastructure and crashes still exist but they’re noticably less common (I just played 15 years with no crash today), and i’ve been doing this “trick” for a week now.
Yes you will still crash but much rarely. This is what i’ve found out works for me for now. Not an optimal solution but i am at least able to play this game normally (i still have major lags)
medopuParticipantI have to agree with Blokker1999 here. I also have one game only with trains and i also got 1 billion profit by 1950.
It really shouldn’t be a problem to make profit with trains in this game. Just don’t overexpand in the first years.
medopuParticipantI get crash every 2 years or 1 year and a half. I have to wait at the end of a month like 5 seconds before it jumps on the next month, and FPS is so low it would be funny if it weren’t real experience.
I’m amazed at how well this game isn’t working.
Was this game ever tested or played for 100 game years before released to public. Yes everything starts well and fine. But once you play for 100 game years, place 40 or 50 trains, this game starts to crawl. And crash ofcourse.
I’m not even hoping for a patch because never has a patch ever ‘fixed’ such a crawl-speed & crashes, something is wrong very deep into the code, i can’t realistically see a patch fixing a broken game, i’m sorry.
I’ve seen many broken games fps&crash wise. No patch has ever fixed those games. If developers knew how to make a game playable they would’ve done it by now.
medopuParticipantI agree with everything varana says.
I always use trains for an industry that has reached 200+ production.ย Not because it were more profitable, but because it’s more sanitary. I’m also playing train fever, not truck fever.
Currently i’m working on “train fever” achievement, which means that i can only use trains until year 2000. No busses or trucks. It’s year 1920, and I already filled one industry chain to top production of 400 (and i only wish there was more, like up to 1000, so that longer cargo platforms would come of any use).
I already have 700 million in the bank and i’m positive, that i’ll easily see a billion or even two on my bank statement once i reach year 2000.
So yes, trains for cargo, can be very profitable! I’m making so much money, i don’t even bother extending lines, so that one train serves various stations, because i’m already making so much money that i can afford buying more and more trains, what can i say, i’m a train enthusiast ๐
medopuParticipantI always replace the whole train along with wagons. That’s an easy work-around around this issue until devs decide to perhaps look into this issue.
medopuParticipantthere are approx 7.000.000 serious game breaking bugs in this game that i’d like to see devs adress before, but yeah, i agree i’d like to see “high-lighted” text thingie ๐
medopuParticipantTraian Trante, i know what you mean ๐ ๐
medopuParticipantAs long as home->station->work/leisure/shops is within 20 minutes of travel & at the same time faster than using a car, the people will travel to the station wherever that station might be ๐
medopuParticipantyes, this can happen. It also happens if you upgrade roads, or add bus stations near existing stations. The people disappear from the station.
medopuParticipantoh yeah i forgot about that ๐ sorry then, disregard my post.
medopuParticipantAnd why would timeless mod not be ok for you?
If i wanted to stay in 1860, i would get timeless mod and buy only the vehicles from that era. I don’t understand what are you trying to acomplish here?
medopuParticipant>Norfolk_Chris
I believe devs are doing things, but much much slower than people would expect them. I’m not trying to defend their issue-fixing priorities, but just a few weeks ago before the latest patch, vehicle auto-replacement would be on your list.
Lets just hope that as time goes on, the list of essential problems with the game will steadily become shorter and shorter ๐
medopuParticipanti wish we had map editor. Random map generator more or less creates the same maps. A river in the middle, mountains on the sides.
We need more variation. Map editor is a must. Then we could make as many cities as we want, and most importantly, we could place industries ourselves.
-Mines on hills/mountains,
-lumber sawmills near forests
and so on.

I dunno, i think cars using bus lanes is sadly WAD:
Some car drivers may get tired of being stuck in traffic jams and switch to the playerโs bus line.at: http://www.train-fever.com/2014/12/better-simulation-better-usability-better-train-fever/
I think it’s ย because player could otherwise cheat and make all city main-connections to bus-lane only meaning cars would be useless for travel between cities.
medopuParticipantcorrect me if im wrong, but aren’t monthly lags based upon monthly maintenance calculations?
I have a constant lag after playing for 50 years but thank god have i never had to wait more than a milisecond after each month but i would understand why it could lag to someone having 100 trains and 500 busses.
Still, i feel sorry for your problems with the game, i hope the devs optimize it to lag less ๐
